The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) conveyed his condolences to the bereaved parents.

Abu Hassan (Muslim bin Abd Allah - Rah) said:
I told Abu Huraira (RA) that two of my sons had died. Should you not inform me of a hadith narrated by the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) in order to comfort our souls regarding the children we lose? I asked.
Abu Hurairah (RA) said, "Yes."
Children are the microbes of heaven.
One of the children grabs his father, or his clothes, or his hand when he meets his parents. As if I was holding the hem of your garment.
Then he will not let himself and his parents go until Allah enters Paradise; Or will not depart. " (Sahih Muslim: 5132)
