64. Twins

The next day, Jungkook woke up early to train with every alpha in the pack. He was preparing to take a shower when he noticed a shift in the scent of his sleeping omega. It's still seductive and sweet, but he can hardly detect their baby's scent.

Jungkook's next move increased his anxiety. He attempted to feel the twins' heartbeat, but I was too faint. He immediately grabbed his phone and dialed either Bogum or Minjae to check on their pups. Jungkook was clutching his hair in frustration and panic, pacing back and forth a few meters away from his still-sleeping mate while waiting for someone to answer the phone.

"Hello, OB department, this is Min-"

"Minjae, is Bogum there?"

"Uhmmm. J-Jungkook? Is it you?"

"Yes! If Bogum is there tell him to check our pup immediately. If he's not there, do it yourself. Bring whatever equipment you need. Our babies hearts are getting weak." Jungkook remarked worriedly.

"Right away, Alpha." Minjae responded before ending the call and grabbing everything needed for the checkup.

Jungkook, on the other hand, returned to his mate's side and caressed his baby bump while talking to their pups.

"Twins, please stay strong for mommy and daddy... please. Everyone's excited to meet you two. Daddy even made a wonderful room for the both of you. So please hang in there." Jungkook pleaded with tears, threatening to escape his eyes. He came in closer to peck Taehyung's baby bump and felt a faint movement, so weak that it may have gone unnoticed if not for his true blood alpha's sense.

He felt weak and heartbroken, he wanted to cry, but there was no way he was going to show his vulnerability to his mate when Taehyung and their puppies needed him the most in such a vulnerable situation.

After a few minutes, Jungkook heard a knock on the door. He opened it immediately, revealing Minjae clutching a bag containing equipment for checking the baby's condition.

"Please don't tell him about our baby's condition, I don't want to stress him out even more." Jungkook whispered to Minjae, and the latter nodded before entering the room.

Jungkook, on the other hand, kissed his mate's pouty lips and gently shook him to wake up. Taehyung slowly opened his eyelids as he adjusted to the natural light peeking through the window. Taehyung pulled Jungkook closer making the alpha giggle as he received a long and gentle kiss from his mate.

"Ahh, love. We have an audience here." Jungkook murmured as he moved away from his omega and gave Minjae an embarrassed smile.

Taehyung widens his eyes and checks to see if he is wearing clothes, or at least a respectable one, as he is used to waking up naked or usually wears lingerie to bed.

Taehyung sighed with relief as he discovered he was wearing a comfortable silk pajama. As if Jungkook would let anyone see his mate in alluring lingerie, what more if he was naked? Not to mention Jungkook's possessive nature toward Taehyung. Right? Right.

Jungkook then helped Taehyung sit up and rest against the headboard while Minjae examined Taehyung and their pups. Minjae placed the doppler on Taehyung's bare belly bump and carefully moved it around, hoping to capture the twins' heartbeat, however, minutes had passed and he still couldn't find it.

After a few minutes, the nurse sighed in relief when he heard a beat, however, he turned to Jungkook when he realized what the alpha had said was true. The twins' heartbeat becomes weaker with each passing day.

Minjae smiled as Taehyung spoke, as if nothing was wrong with the twins; of course, he would do anything Jungkook asked him. To not tell Taehyung about their baby's health in order to avoid worrying the omega further.

"How are they?" Taehyung questioned.

"They're o-okay. I think they're still sleeping, but please stop stressing yourself, it's for the twins' sake." Minjae said as the two simply nodded.

"I should get going, you should rest." Minjae remarked, lowering his head.
"I'll walk him outside. I'll be back, and please don't make unnecessary movements. Wait for me, okay? I'll ask for our breakfast here too." Jungkook said, pecking his mate's forehead and caressing his growing baby bump.

Jungkook helped Taehyung lay down on the bed again before strolling towards the door with Minjae in front of him.

When they stepped out of the room and the door was closed, he asked Minjae about their baby's condition.

"How are the twins?"

"You are right, Alpha. Their heartbeat is getting weaker. Your mate should stop stressing himself; it is affecting the twins."

"Can't we do something about it? Like medicine?" Jungkook asked.

"I'll consult Bogum first." Minjae responded as they proceeded to go down the corridor. 

"Ask him immediately; where is he anyway?" Jungkook questioned.

"He said he has something important to do. But I saw him last night before I went home. I thought he would be back today," Minjae answered.

After a minute of discussing the twins' health, the two parted ways. Minjae returns to the hospital on the west side of the pack, while Jungkook goes to the kitchen to get breakfast.

Jungkook returned to their bedroom, carrying a platter of food for his mate. He's still concerned about the twins' condition; he can't help but feel uneasy and angry at the person attempting to kidnap his beautiful mate.

When Jungkook opened the door to their room, he was shocked by his mate's condition, causing the tray of food to fall on the floor as he hurried towards his omega.

"SHIT LOVE!"
