Saving Me

Chapter 2

The past couple of days at work have been rather busy, which I was glad about. Today is friday, and I can't wait to finish as it means I can go out. Luckily, we close early on a friday and dont open at the weekends.

"Want some company tonight?" Lexi asks as we lock up.

"Im going out," I reply

"I know, thought I might come join you,"

"yeah okay" I smiled. it was the first time in like a month that Lexi had come out with me.

"Awesome, I'll go home and get some stuff and come get ready at yours." With that, we left the café.

Once I got home, I turned the shower on as I got undressed, giving it time to warm up. Once I got undressed, I stepped in the shower, the hot water instantly making me feel better. I just stood there letting the water run down me, loving the way it feels, sort of like it washing away my problems. I lost track of time as the next thing I knew, I heard Lexi coming into my room.

"Arizona," she shouts. "

"Be out in 5 minutes," I shouted back as I got the shampoo and washed my hair. 5 minutes later, I stepped out of the shower, wrapping myself in my towel robe.

"Hey," I smiled as I walked out the bathroom into my bedroom, seeing Lexi sat on my bed looking sad.

"What's with the long face? You're supposed to be excited," I laughed.

" I need to tell you something," she stated. The look on her face told me this wasn't good, I slowly sat down next to her.

"What is it'

"Amelia just rang me and told me, and I thought I'd tell you before you find out."

"Lexi, just tell me," I snapped. I was getting rather annoyed. She always did this, and she loved beating around the bush.

"Amelia was on Facebook, and she saw that.." Lexi stopped talking a deep breath.

"she proposed Arizona," She stated, looking right at me. I knew who she was on about, but I needed to be 100% sure.

"Who?" I asked

"Carina, she proposed to Maya they are engaged."

Hearing those words made my heart break, and my whole body went cold. I could feel my eyes welling up. Before I knew it, tears cascaded down my face as I felt Lexi's arms wrap around me, and I fell into her body, my chest physically hurting, i was struggling to breathe.

"I'm so sorry, Arizona," Lexi said after a while when I managed to finally stop crying. I wiped my eyes and sat up, looking at Lexi.

"Shall we just get a takeaway and stay in?" Lexi half smiled.

"No, I want to go out," I said, standing up and walking to my bedroom door. I was determined to get wasted tonight, especially now.

"I'm getting a drink, you want one," I asked Lexi.

"erm yeah, sure." With that, I went downstairs and grabbed a bottle of wine and two glasses, and headed back upstairs. Lexi was already dressed as I walked back into my room, setting the glasses on the desk, I poured 2 glasses of win and handed one to Lexi

" You okay?" she asked, taking the glass from me.

"No." I half smiled before downing my glass of wine.

"i feel like she's broken me again, to be honest. It should have been me,"

"I know , I know you cant see it but you are so much better off without her, if she can do what she did to you and can sleep at night she doesn't deserve the air that your breathe"
