Callie's POV
2 months later...
Today is the day we can finally move into our new home, and I can't wait. Ever since I saw it, I couldn't wait to move in. I was like a little kid waiting for Christmas. Mark and Lexi are helping us move so that we can get everything to move in in one day.
We both got up early. My dad took Sofia for a sleepover last night and is keeping her for the day, so it will make it easier. She is super excited, she has already picked out the colours she wants for her bedroom.
As soon as we got up, we started loading the van. We had already boxed pretty much everything up, so Mark and Lexi started putting stuff in the van while me and Arizona finished packing up the last of stuff. Once the van was full, we put stuff into our cars and set off. We had barely gotten started, and I was knacked already, and we still had so much to do.
That evening...
We finally got everything in. Now it's having to unpack everything. Lexi and Mark sorted Sofia's room out earlier so that it's ready for her. Now me and Arizona are sorting the kitchen out. We ordered food not long back, and I'm starving! We haven't eaten since this morning, and my stomach doesn't like that.
"Callie," Arizona said a short time later.
"Hmm,"
"I want to talk to you about something, something that's been on my mind for a while."
"Okay.." I said worry evident on my face.
"You know I love Sofia, right?"
"Yeah, of course." I smiled back, wondering where this was going.
"I was..erm..thinking.. how would you feel about giving her a little brother or sister?" I nearly dropped what I was holding as my jaw hit the floor.
"I.."
"Mummy," Sofia yelled as she ran into the kitchen. I opened my arms as she ran into them.
"Hey baby girl,"
"I wanna see my room," she said excitingly.
"Okay, come on then," I smiled back, putting her back on the floor. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little relieved that I didn't have to answer Arizona's question.
I looked at Arizona as I walked past her out of the kitchen. She looked like she was going to cry. I feel awful. Sofia is everything to me, yeah I have thought a couple of times that it would be cool for Sofia to have a little sister or brother but I've never really thought about it properly, a passing thought is all.
Sofia ran up the stairs to her room as I followed behind. She let out a little squeal as she entered her room. Mark and Lexi did an awesome job putting everything up in such a sort space of time. We still have the walls to paint, but that can wait.
"Do you like it?" I smiled as she climbed on her bed.
"Yeah," she beamed, and she started jumping up and down. A few minutes later, we went back downstairs. I plugged in the tv and put it on so Sofia could watch her cartoons. I took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen, not knowing what I was going to say because I knew she wanted an answer, but I didn't have one.
As soon as I walked into the kitchen, Arizona looked up, clearly upset. I hate upsetting her. It upsets me.
"I'm sorry," I said.
"It's okay," she said as she started to unpack another box, not looking at me. I sighed before walking up to her, taking the cups from her hand and putting them on the counter. I then took her hands in mine and turned her so she was facing me.
"It's not okay, it just took me by surprise, that's all," I said truthfully.
"I know, just forget I said anything."
"That's not going to happen. Look, the truth is I've never really properly thought about it, and we've never spoken about this." I said.
"Okay," was all she said. She tried to turn away but I stopped her.
"Hey, this doesn't mean I don't want to. I want anything you want, and if you want another baby, then we will, but let's do one thing at a time. " I smiled as I stroked her finger with the ring on. As I said those words, I realised that they are 100% true. I'll do anything to make Arizona happy. If she wanted another baby, then I do as well. I mean, Sofia would be an amazing big sister. And I would love nothing more than to extend our family.
"I didn't mean right away, I just meant in general," she half smiled. I leaned in and connected our lips.
"Then yes, 100% we will have another baby," I smiled.
"What did I do to deserve you?" she asks.
"I ask myself that question all the time." I smile as I tuck a stand of hair behind her ear. She smiles as well before connecting our lips again.
We spent the next 2 hours unpacking, and then we got Sofia into bed. It took us ages because she was still so excited. We had to bribe her telling her we would take her to the park tomorrow if she went to sleep. It worked. By the time she went to sleep, I was absolutely knackered, I got in the shower, and then me and Arizona just sat on the sofa and watched tv. I couldn't help but think how perfect my life is right now. I never thought I'd have this or feel the things I do, and I can't imagine ever being without Arizona. It wasn't long before I fell asleep in Arizona's arms, thinking of our perfect little family.
