Aurelia...

"Are you sure it isn't too much?" I asked, looking into the mirror over my shoulder. I had William cover my wedding dress in tiny little ice crystals, making beautiful little designs. It made the dress sparkle, and I have high hopes Alex will be surprised and love it.

"You look absolutely beautiful, Sunshine. Like a fairytale princess." My mom dapped at her eyes.

Today is the day. The day I marry the love of my life, officially making me Queen of both the 1st and 13th Kingdoms. The weight of the responsibility hung over me heavily, even though I have had plenty of time to soak in the idea.

A few days after Alex and I woke up, post war, we finally got to go back to New York. We visited our parents, who were all so relieved to see us. Especially mine.

They had believed the story Harry told them, but it was still a struggle for them. They still mourned, they still missed me, and it was hard for them to grasp what happened. It made it harder for them when Alex disappeared, too. When they had questions they wanted to ask, they were all alone. Even when Evan would visit and let them know how I was doing, it was hard for them to believe it themselves. He would disappear on them like Alex did, and it made things hard.

I won't lie, it made me feel really guilty that I left them behind when they were struggling so much. I had to remind myself that it was safer for them in New York, and leaving them was for the best. Seeing the looks on their faces though, when Harry and I popped through a portal right in the living room, was so worth everything. I couldn't help but laugh at how shocked they looked to see me standing there.

Of course, the water works quickly came when the shock wore off, and they won the record for 'longest group hug'. My mom was obsessed with the light blue gown I was wearing, and was blown away by the fact it was covered in real daisies. She also couldn't stop staring at my tiara. It was made of many strands of tiny vines, woven together around my head, and a bunch of tiny blue butterflies hitchhiked their way over with me, fluttering around and perching onto it.

"My baby, you really are a princess, aren't you?" My dad cupped my chin, pride gleaming in his eyes.

The proud looks never faded as we sat in the living room for hours. I showed them everything I could do, while Harry explained more details about our world that he left out prior to our initial departure. Everything from making flowers appear everywhere, to creating a puppy out of thin air, lighting myself on fire, to even letting some birds in who wanted to talk to me. They were so impressed with everything.

Harry took any moment to brag about me that he could, talking highly about how I saved the Kingdoms, even to how I bravely survived the Mystic Mountains. It made me happy to see them bonding, and I knew they'd be great friends. Harry deserves great friends. I know my adoptive parents will never replace my mom and dad to him, but it would be great for him to have other people to talk to again.

When my mom finally took notice of the ice ring on my finger, I don't think I've ever heard anyone scream so loud. They were both ecstatic to learn I was newly engaged, and that a wedding and a coronation would be taking place in a few months. My dad was thrilled when I asked him to walk me down the isle, alongside Harry. He had assumed he wouldn't be doing it, since I had discovered my real family, to which I responded, they'd always be my real family too. My grandma already said they could visit whenever they wanted. They could even live here if they wanted, but they haven't decided on that yet. I understand first hand that it's a big adjustment.
