Chapter 44

Alex...
A couple weeks have passed since the Ball. The day after, everyone from my Kingdom went back to the Mystic Mountains. Everyone but me of course. I had visited occasionally throughout the past two weeks, in order to train and spend time with my mother, but I always returned here. It was just too hard to be away from Aurelia for too long.
We have both been doing exceptionally well with our training, especially Aurelia. She's just such a natural when it comes to magic. It's taken me longer to get to this point, but now, magic is like the snap of a finger to me.
Magic has also made our relationship so much more fun and playful. The amount of times we've gotten into snow and flower fights is ridiculous. Will and Harry always have to scold us when we start teasing each other too much during important lessons.
To make things easier, all of our royal lessons are being taught together. We have to learn how to run a country, be good rulers, and we need to know the history of all the Kingdoms. It's been a lot, since we have magic training and royal duties as well, but we've been managing.
What bothers me the most is the lack of alone time we've had since the ball.
Every morning, it's early breakfast, a few hours of magic training, then Kingdom history 101, lunch, more training, more magic, more classes, dinner, then bed. It's frustrating me to no end.
I'm so thankful Aurelia was able to convince her Grandmother into allowing us to have this beautiful Sunday afternoon off.
Of course, I couldn't help but sit here and pout, because apparently everyone thought a Sunday off meant 'a party'.
I sat with my arms crossed, while Harry, Will, Evan, Nixie, Phoenix, and Lindsey Anne all sat in the garden with us.
I know I was being a baby, and also selfish since none of our friends, aside from Harry and Will, have gotten to see us much, but I was still annoyed.
I wanted alone time with my girlfriend, and here I am, sitting off in a corner, in a crowded garden.
"Hey, Alex, why don't you unfreeze that frown on your face and come over here." Nixie shouted from across the enchanted garden.
"Why don't you go back to your own Kingdom and flood it." I scowled in response, only feeling slightly bad for the comment. Nixie and I had developed a very teasing friendship. Saying rude things to each other was normal.
I caught Aurelia's gaze, and felt like a jerk when I saw the frown on her face. I know she wanted to spend time with me, and her friends, but was having a hard time balancing it. I just had to be a child and make her feel bad.
I quickly averted my eyes, trying to look less like a sulking five year old.
"Guys, I'll see you all at dinner. I'm gonna go on a walk I think." My ears perked as her soft voice flooded my ears.
Without sparing me a glance, she quickly excused herself, making me feel even worse for upsetting her.
Great.
I stood up so fast, I knocked the chair back, and sprinted out of the garden after her.
However, I didn't have to run very far, since she actually was waiting by the entrance for me.
"I figured you'd follow." She grinned.
"Wait, you're not upset?" I questioned in slight confusion. "I thought you were mad I was acting like a childish jerk?"
