Chapter 25

Aurelia...

I struggled to breathe as we walked towards what Harry told us would be the Queen's private office. Apparently the huge throne room was too grand and formal for a family reunion.

I was about to meet my real Grandma. My real blood family.

The excitement and nerves combined were overwhelming, I thought I might puke everything I ate.

I wonder what she looks like, what my parents look like. I wonder why my parents aren't the King and Queen yet, and if they are excited to see their daughter again. I'm sure excited to see them. So are they the High Prince and Princess, and have the right to rule before me?

Before I could make myself choke with all the internal questions, Harry pushed open a lovely set of doors. There were books everywhere, lining the walls, but my eyes immediately found the only person sitting in the far corner of the room.

There wasn't a doubt in my mind that she was the Queen. Everything about her screamed power and glory, but not in a negative way. Beauty and kindness radiated off her, and I knew this graceful woman was a wonderful ruler by one glance.

She watched out the window, reminding me that I haven't seen outside yet. I wonder if the view is as beautiful as her.

Her hair was golden brown like mine, and she was gorgeous and young. She probably would be considered in her late 40′s if she walked the earth. She was nothing you'd first expect a grandmother to look like, but also everything.

I suddenly felt the nerves swelling around me.

"Hello, Your Majesty, lovely to see you again." Harry bowed as he entered the room.

At the sound of his voice, her eyes drifted over to him, a stunning smile illuminating her face. "Harold, 'tis wonderful to see you again."

The sound of her voice alone brought tears to my eyes. It was as if all at once, my memories of my childhood flooded back to me, having been delayed from the reuniting of my soul and body. I could remember her laughter, the late nights making pies when I couldn't sleep. I remembered my grandpa, twirling me around the garden as he sprouted up flowers out of the ground to place in my hair.

I remembered my parents.

My mothers soft smile, and my fathers black as night hair. My father would spark his hands with fire to make me laugh, because I was fascinated with the idea of roasting marshmallows in his bare hands.

I even remembered my past with Harry, and how he would always protect me when we strolled through the village, or how he'd always sneak me sweets from the kitchen at night.

While my mind was lost in memory, I involuntarily let out a small sob. It wasn't sad though, it was happy and full of nostalgia. I finally felt at home, and like I belonged.

The small sound brought all eyes in my direction, where I was still stuck in the doorway.

The Queen's smile slowly slipped off, being replaced by a look of shock. It was as if she couldn't believe after all these years, her precious granddaughter has finally returned to her. She quickly stood, taking slow and cautious steps towards me, afraid I would disappear.

"Aurelia..." She breathed. "Is that truly you?"

"Grandma Daisy." I whispered, recalling the nickname I always called her. Although her name is Alena, I always called her Daisy because she reminded me of the bright flower with her calming and radiant personality. Plus, she always had them in her hair, even now.
