Chapter 2

Aurelia...

After the lack of sleep I got last night, I demanded Evan take me to Starbucks in Times Square this morning. Between having the dream, again, and nightmares from the dumb horror movie he made me watch, I barely slept. I haven't had the dream multiple nights in a row since I was thirteen, so that kept me up with thoughts plaguing my mind. Also, never again will I watch another horror movie.

But strangely, those weren't the only things keeping me awake last night. I couldn't stop thinking of those eyes. I only saw them for maybe ten seconds at most, yet they intrigued me so much. But why? I've made eye contact with thousands of strangers in my lifetime, so why is this pair so special. It was weird. It was like I could see the whole world in them. I didn't see much of the boy they belonged to, but I'm sure he was as beautiful as his eyes.

Leave it alone, Rel. You'll probably never see him again.

"Then I ripped off it's arm and licked it's armpit." I tuned back into Evan's rambling.

"Ew, what?!" I nearly puked on spot.

"Nothing, just checking you're still with me." He snorted, incredulously.

"I really hate you." I seethed.

"You know, you say that often, but I just don't ever believe it." He laughed before his eyes glanced behind me. "Hey, don't freak out, but that guy has been not so subtly staring at you for ten minutes now." He spoke quietly.

"What?" I curiously started to turn around.

"No! Don't look!" He warned me, but it was ignored as I locked eyes with the mysterious person in question.

A gasp immediately left my lips as I met his eyes and whipped back around. "Oh my gosh."

"What? What's wrong?" Evan straightened, letting concern paint his face.

"That's the guy I saw yesterday." I whispered, more to myself than him, absolutely astounded.

"What guy?"

It occurred to me that I never mentioned the blue eyed boy I locked gazes with yesterday. I leaned in close so no one would hear, causing him to copy my actions. "Yesterday, when we got on the train, right before it took off, I saw him."

"No way. The same guy?"

"I'm positive."

"Ooh, it's fate." He grinned childishly.

"Shut up. Fate doesn't exist."

"Uh, yes it does. How else would soul mates exist?"

"Soul mates don't exist either!" I whisper yelled.

"Don't be silly, of course they do." He shot back.

"This is ridiculous." I leaned back in my chair, now conscious of the eyes I could feel burning into my back.

"You're ridiculous. Come on, let's go. I'm bored of Starbucks." He said suddenly, standing up.

I was more than happy to leave the watchful eyes of the hot stranger, so I ignored the mischievous look on Evan's face.

We made our way to the door, leaving us no choice but to pass by his table. My breathing picked up as we were about to pass him, and I was so anxious to leave. Evan, however, seemed to have other ideas.
