Sunghoon heaved out a sigh as he watched the pitter-patter of the rain out of the window. Taehee was running late just like their old times. She used to even show up late during their dates because of her job.
A smile unconsciously tugged upon his lips as he recalled his times with Seo Taehee. They had ended things on an abrupt term, and he wasn't quite glad about it, but even so he was excused graciously. Usually people would reject the idea of meeting up with their exes, and it wasn't any different for him. Taehee had always been understanding, it was him who had left her broken, yet she didn't pry him. It was a happy relationship, but it was one sided. Sunghoon hated himself for doing so to Taehee because afterall the worst part of it was, that it really destroyed them both in the inside at the end.
She had the most beautiful soul according to Sunghoon, to an extent he believed that if his heart wasn't all for Areum since his childhood, he might have fallen head over heels for Taehee.
He jumped slightly as the doorbell to his house rung couple of times, loud and clear. He pursed his lips in a tight smile, as he made his way towards the front door.
She was jerking her handbag, her hair a wet mess, the water droplets rolling down her face to soak the hem of her dress top. She stopped abruptly as she heard the door open.
She couldn't even smile back at him. A dry chuckle forced its way up her throat, "I really didn't expect it to rain," She said as Sunghoon let her inside.
He kept his soft smile, motioning her to sit on the couch, not caring if the cushions got wet.
Just footsteps and rustling of the cushions could be heard apart from their own loud, fast and irregular heartbeats in the silent room.
Taehee never really understood why Sunghoon, despite being ridiculously rich, lived in a small apartment like this. He never answered to her questions prying his personal life, even as a boyfriend. She didn't even know anything much about his parents or his past. Her only assumption about his wealth was that it was inherited.
"How is life?" His voice made her snap her attention back to him, as she hastily placed her beige handbag on the coffee table, it being the only thing between them.
Taehee smiled at him, "Couldn't be better. Yours?"
Her eyes were shining, her bottom lip secured partly between her teeth set as if she was holding back her emotions. Her threads were delicate, and he had to be careful while fiddling with them.
