"Go away," Areum pushed Sunoo's hands away from her jacket which he was helping her zip up, "I'm not drunk, I can do it on my own." She mumbled, showing him how perfect her skills were.
He raised his eyebrows, shoving his hands inside his pockets, "Yeah right. You weren't just pushing the door when it clearly read 'PULL' in big, bold letters." He scoffed, his eyes set on the car which just pulled up in the streets, its engines roaring wild and rich as it dominated the midnight silence of the area.
The sleek black Maserati came to a halt, eliciting a gasp from Areum at how cool the car was, how it seemed to attract all of her unsteady, fuddled attention.
"He's here. Let's go," The bartender yawned, rubbing his left eye with his thumb as he led the way to the car with Areum following his steps without any hesitation, both her frispy sandals grasped tightly in her hand.
Sunghoon tightened his lips, drumming his fingers lightly over the steering wheel as he watched the two souls outside trying to work out simple functioning of a car door, both slightly unsteady with the alcohol they consumed that very night. He only hoped this helped both their minds calm down.
A sigh left his mouth, his hands quickly working to unbuckle himself as he reached out to unlock the passenger seat's door.
"You saw that? I opened it," He heard Areum grumble smugly to her friend before she eventually stepped inside the vehicle, dropping the heels on the car floor. Sunghoon waved a goodbye to Sunoo after Areum had snuggled herself in the seat, starting the engine. The silence was quite awkward, but he was atleast thankful that Areum wasn't looking as stressed as when he left her at the bar with.
"Areum?" He called, a hum resonating across the car in response. The response was rather drawled, signaling that either she was drunk, or simply sleepy. Sunghoon would rather imagine the second one.
She smacked her lips, "I'm not drunk, okay." She said, fumbling with the buttons on her side of the car. Sunghoon bit back a smile.
A long silence followed, neither of them knowing how to get through the conversation. Sunghoon knew what he had to say, but he wasn't really finding the guts to do so. He didn't know where to start to be exact. He knew he overreacted, he should have seen Areum's point of view too. He was being selfish in the end, and he needed to apologise.
"I'm sorry," Two voices echoed across the confined space of the four-wheeler at the same time, making them both snap their heads towards each other. Areum licked her chapped lips, watching as Sunghoon diverted his attention back on the road, a relieved sigh escaping his system.
