Sunghoon looked at his white T-shirt in the mirror, which had a damp, wet patch resting near his chest. It took time for Taehee to finally calm down. She really was hurting all this while, and Sunghoon was feeling so miserable knowing that he was the reason behind it.

But he was also glad that Taehee's heart was now at peace.

His hands hovered over the hem of his T-shirt, before he grabbed the two ends and pulled the fabric over his head. He stared at his tummy in the reflection of his mirror, softly poking it with his index finger. His stomach was only starting to get toned. Faint lines, that would define his premature abs, could be seen.

He shook his head, pushing away the unnecessary thoughts before he tossed the shirt into the washing machine, opening his closet to look for something else to wear.

Taehee kept the glass of water back on the counter, staring around the house she had last been in two years ago. A frown was perched on her face as she stared at the painting hung on the wall in front of her.

These frames once had pictures of her and Sunghoon together. Now they just had some odd paintings, filling up the loneliness in his life.

She immediately turned around when she heard the door to Sunghoon's room open.

He looked at her while fixing the messy strands of his black hair. He looked handsome, like always. Taehee gulped as he made his way towards her, his white T-shirt now replaced with a black hoodie.

"About Jaehyun.." He started after they had once again settled themselves on the couch.

Taehee looked down, fiddling with her fingers. She bit her lip and she contemplated whether to spill it all out or not. Sunghoon wouldn't leave her alone anyways until she told him the truth, so why not.

She felt her throat tighten, as if her body was giving her a warning to not say anything. But she wasn't among the lot to actually listen.

"He has a disease," She started, suddenly finding herself being unable to form proper sentences, "He is suffering from cerebral haemorrhage.." She said in a go, her heart now beating very fast as she remembered Jaehyun's condition.

Receiving nothing but silence as a reply, she looked up to meet Sunghoon's eyes.

Sunghoon had gone still, very still. Like his system had shut itself down. There wasn't the cold icy look in his eyes like he always carried, instead there was nothing but pitch darkness in his eyes. Like someone had taken the light away from them.

Seeing this, she decided to help him out slightly, "Bleeding in the brain tissues," She said, a heavy lump forming in her throat which word as her voice quivered, "Symptoms include seizures, changes in vision, severe headache—"

"You're lying." Sunghoon cut her off, standing up abruptly. Seeing him having suddenly get so worked up, she stood up too.

Taehee shook her head. She wasn't lying. A few tears slipped down her eyes, as they rivered her cheeks, "He's suffering, Sunghoon. He is d—"

"Stop lying!" He suddenly shouted at the top of his voice, making Taehee flinch at the sudden outburst, "He will live, he has to live. For himself, for us," He took a small pause, looking away, "For Areum.."

Taehee bit her tongue to prevent any kind of sound escape her mouth. As a doctor, she had seen so many patients die at a young age due to diseases like such. But she had particularly grown close to a man called Wu Jaehyun.

His warm, big hearted nature and his endless love for his girlfriend and family, all of it was beautiful and attractive, siding with his looks.

"Please don't tell Areum.." Taehee pleaded, looking up at him with big, watery eyes.

Sunghoon closed his eyes, as for the first time in so many years his eyes watered. A tear made its way down his supple skin, "I'm not in the position to tell her anyways."

I let out a ragged breath as I stood in front of the airport gates, my hands having gone numb due to the cold air jabbing at them. I stuffed them into my coat pocket in order to get some kind of warmth.

Jaehyun was to board out any moment, for which I kept my eyes on every figure slipping out of the gates. His flight had surprisingly gotten delayed by two hours today. The moment I had spotted a familiar pair of doe eyes, I waved my hand in the air frantically to get his attention.

His eyes crinkled into a smile, a grinning set of teeth shining behind the black mask he was wearing once he spotted me. With a black bag in his hand, he made his way through the crowd, towards me.

"Hey," He greeted, lowering his mask below his chin, "I missed you so much." He said, dropping the bag onto the ground beside our feet as his big, muscular arms embraced me.

"I missed you too," I mumbled into his hoodie, returning the gesture with a small smile tugging my lips, "Let's get you home." I pulled apart, tugging on his black backpack.

He nodded as he removed the backpack, handing it to me so I could help him with the luggage, after which we made our way towards the car.

Once we had made ourselves comfortable inside the car, Jaehyun's luggage resting in the backseat, I turned on the heater. I faced sideways, looking at him appear completely drained out, his head resting against the window as he stared outside with dull eyes.

"Are you okay?" I asked as I bent forwards to grip his hand, making him flinch at the sudden contact, "Your mom told me that you got admitted in the hospital day before yesterday."

He licked his lips, his eyes set on our intertwined hands, "I'm okay, Areum." He gave me a sweet smile, covering up the fact how exhausted he actually was, "Didn't she tell you it was just a hangover?" He pulled my hand to his face, pecking my fingers gently.

I smiled and nodded, "You just need some rest," I mumbled before retracting my hand, as I turned the engine on.

Meanwhile Jaehyun's smile faded in the dark, "Just some rest.." He mumbled to himself before closing his eyes, letting sleep consume him.
