"So, aren't you and Suah a thing?" I asked as I dug my spoon into the bowl of coconut ice-cream I had in my hands.
Juyeon choked on his chocolate ice-cream, coughing as he placed his glass bowl onto the marble top. Hastily grabbing a few tissues, he wiped his lips which were smudged light brown due to the dessert.
I raised my eyebrows at his reaction, sliding the tissue box towards him, in case he needed them.
"Of course not," He grumbled, his voice high pitched unlike his usual melodic cassette, "What even makes you think that I like her?"
I sighed, looking bored already with the same conversation all over again, "Be honest with yourself. You're going to end up hurting yourself once your seemingly neglected feelings start getting deep because you and I both know that you like Suah—"
"No, I don't! We're just a fling, alright? She's just another girl packaged along a week of thrill, and then it's all over." Juyeon clarified, clearly irritated by my nonchalant accusations.
"Ju, it's clear from all of your actions, why can't you just accept?" I defended. I didn't know why I was getting so worked up about this. Maybe the thought about my best friend getting hurt didn't seem the best one to me. Juyeon has been through this so many times, his ego is too big for him to accept his feelings so he always ends up ignoring them until it's too late. And he always ends up heartbroken, maybe this time I wanted to make sure it doesn't happen again.
"I'm not an easy guy, Areum. Just because I'm being kind to her and giving her my time due this "flirtationship" shit doesn't mean that I like Suah!" He looked worked up as he said that, attracting quite a few stares from various people inside the ice-cream parlour. He looked around himself, noticing the unwanted attention he had managed to seek.
Swinging his jacket over his shoulder, finishing the last scoop of his ice-cream, he got up, "See you later, Areum."
I let out a short breath, my eyes set on the white melting puddle of ice-cream inside the glass bowl, humiliation eating me up as I felt eyes on me.
I hated being a subject of judgement, and my life at this point wasn't helping at all.

Sunoo: Can you please come here, now?
My eyes were wide, I re-read the text ten times to make sure I read it right. This was the longest text I had received from the bartender.
Surely, something must be off for him to offer us to meet up. Snapping back onto earth, I let out a small laugh before my fingers danced over the screen to type an affirmative reply to the blonde man.

Standing outside the fancy glass door flashing the words 'CLOSED' in bright neon red rights near the handles, I fidgeted with my sleeves.
I tried to peek inside, but the black film cover was making it impossible for me to steal a glance. Sighing to myself, I let my hand make a firm grip onto the metal knob, and pushed it open.
Cold air of the conditioned bar hit my skin, goosebumps rising throughout my arms. It was deserted, unlike how it usually was supposed to be, crowded.
"Sunoo?" I called out as I looked before the counter, finding no one there as my eyes scanned the place.
"Areum?" A low pitched, muffled voice came from the store room, before shuffling of boxes and footsteps were heard.
A pale Sunoo emerged from behind the door, his eyes visibly tinted red in the dark atmosphere, earning a gasp from me. His blonde locks ruffled into an uneven mess, a long silver earring dangling from his left ear, his veiny, milky white hands holding a beer bottle upright.
"I didn't think you'd come," He voiced out, words just spilling out of his mouth as if he was flustered about something, "Sit," He motioned me towards the high chair around the marvelous marble top as I followed.
"Of course, I would come," I defended, "Do you think that ill of me?" I joked as a dry chuckle left the man's mouth after he seated himself beside me.
"Beer?" He asked me, his eyes set upon the glass bottle in his hands as he raised in the air.
I shook my head which he took notice of from his peripheral vision, nodded his head meekly as he slid the bottle away, propping his elbows over the counter.
"What's wrong?" I asked, wondering if it would be okay if I placed my hand on his shoulder as a comforting gesture, but Sunoo wasn't a man of touch.
He gulped harshly, running his tongue over his bottom lip before he nibbled on it softly, "I won't beat around the bush," He let out a ragged breath as I had my ears up for whatever he had to say. I rubbed my hands onto my dress fabric in anticipation as he finally cocked his head sideways, making an eye contact with me, "I like Kim Suah."
I chocked on air.
"Oh," I coughed out, biting my lip to stop a grin making its way over my lips. Everyone knew how much Sunoo liked Suah, his actions, his cheeks on fire whenever the latter was around, all of it would give it away even though he verbally denied it.
Sunoo seemed dissatisfied with my reaction as he passed a water bottle to me, watching me harshly gulp down the water. Not wanting to make him think that he did the wrong thing by confiding his feelings into me, I spoke up, "I'm with you. I'm proud you're finally accepting your heart's call." I smiled at him.
He flushed red as he got up abruptly. I cocked up an eyebrow in confusion before he lowly muttered, "Nature's call," and left, leaving me laughing at how cute he looked. The bartender was whipped.
Damn you, Kim Suah, for collecting men like Pokémons.
