I smiled as I looked at Juyeon and Suah skate around, laughing away as they chatted. The were getting along pretty well. I bent down to loosen the knots of my laces which were sickening tight at this point.
Beside me, Sunghoon was sitting with his hands inside his pockets, having already removed his skates.
After minutes of struggle and curses I shot at my past self for tying the laces so tight, I removed the skating equipment as I relaxed on my chair, exhaling deeply.
I couldn't help but remember the series of events which took place a few minutes ago. With my ears stinging bright red, I recalled how Sunghoon had given up all his time for me to just skate around a bit without any help. Though still I fell down a couple of times every time he let go, it indeed was humiliating.
Laughing away, Juyeon made his way towards us, his arm invested in helping Suah walk, who was apparently upset, a sad frown formed on her face.
"What happened?" I asked as they sat beside us, as Juyeon warmly ran his hand on the younger's back as she removed her skates.
Juyeon pursed his lips before letting out a somewhat mocking sigh, "She fell down on her bum, and now she is sulking." He snorted after that, which made Suah pinch his thigh over his jeans material, earning a painful scowl from him.
"There's an eatery nearby," Sunghoon spoke up, looking up from his phone, "I heard that it also has a bonfire place," He mumbled before looking at his wrist watch, "It should be open at this time."
We all agreed as we got out of the ring after returning the skates. A few girls passing by were staring down at the boys with us, obviously amazed by the visuals. Juyeon and Sunghoon acted as if they didn't notice the people checking them out.
I looked around the small but cozy looking shop we had arrived at. Simple menu, not so heavy food, a crowded place to keep it warm enough against the cruel cold night. Sunghoon signaled for us to go find seats while he went towards the counter to place an order for the four of us.
Since, the bonfire place— which was seemingly in demand— was full, we took a table by the door, cold air sending chills down our spines every time the door was opened. With Juyeon sitting beside me, I looked around the place before my eyes caught a familiar figure.
The dull green coat, the same coat the girl with Jaehyun was wearing. I squinted my eyes as I stood up for a better view of the female right behind Sunghoon in the counter line, her dress and hair being the only parts visible.
Her phone rung as she dug her fingers inside her jeans pocket, taking her phone out. She stepped out of the line, turning around. I got a clear view of her face as she talked on the phone in hushed whispers, cupping around the speaker of the device to have a better audio over the loud chatters in the place.
She was beautiful, olive skin, skinny figure, hazel almond shaped eyes which were squinted while she was talking. She let out an inaudible gasp as she heard whatever the person over the line had to say, making a beeline towards the exit of the door, coming nearer to me with every second passing by.
She was almost worried, shocked at whatever she heard from the speaker of the phone— it was clearly visible through her hazel eyes— as she passed right by me, exiting the shop.
I looked down at the floor where she had dropped a white bracelet. Getting up from the chair, I made my way towards the lone armlet before Sunghoon's voice snapped me out of it.
"Areum?" He made his way towards me instead of heading towards the table, "Come on, I got the token," He raised a pink coloured plastic token which was numbered 7.
I nodded before bending down to retrieve the bracelet but he beat me to it, "After dinner." He said, his voice suddenly robbed of all the warmth as he tucked the bracelet inside his jacket, wrapping his fingers around my wrist before directing us back to the table.
