Stepping inside the restaurant, which was now dimly lit and empty, my ears were suddenly filled with obnoxious yelling.
Fighting against the will to just pass out and sleep, I peeled my eyelids apart, as Sunghoon came running towards me.
"Wha—"
"Where the fuck were you?" He asked, worry and relief etched all over his face. His dark eyes took me in, consumed me whole, and for a moment I wondered what they would look like if he fell in love.
I took in the intoxicating scent of his cologne at the proximity, inhaling deeply as my mind failed to form a proper sentence. Like all my education from primary school had gone in waste, I couldn't find proper words to speak.
"Areum?" Suah's voice came, a certain urgency shown in her voice as the tone practically urged me to spew an answer.
"With Sunoo." I hastily threw out the words past my tongue.
"Why didn't you pick up our calls?" Sunghoon asked, taking a step back. But the worry in his eyes didn't smidge a bit.
I let my hand wander inside my pocket before it made contact with the cold metal. "It's discharged," I raised the phone up in air, waving it on display, "I'm sorry I came late. I lost track of time." I groaned, collapsing onto the nearest chair as I rested my head onto the table. My head felt like someone had started hammering against it, the pain ceasing my ability to think straight.
I knew I didn't have a very high tolerance with alcohol, yet every time I would drink a lot, regretting it later during the hangover.
Juyeon looked at the scene from afar, his face filled with concern as he looked at the clock displaying the time.
2 AM.
"Wasn't the bar supposed to be closed today?" He finally spoke up, making a beeline towards the scene with his arms crossed, a little frown visible on his features.
"He called me to come over," I said as I looked over at Suah. A giggle unintentionally bubbled out of my mouth as I stared at the woman, making her retract her expression in confusion, "He had a secret to share."
"Whatever it is," Sunghoon started as he tugged onto my arm, making me stand up onto my two wobbly feet, "I'm taking you home. You're clearly tired... and wasted." He said as he reached out his hand to grab a hold of my wrist.
He said that I was the one who was tired, though we both knew the truth here. It was him who needed rest, not me.
I let him take me outside the restaurant, into the nightlight as we walked down the lane, towards his car.
I couldn't help but notice the wary look of Sunghoon, and it kept bothering me of what was actually going on. I had noticed the same strain in Juyeon and Suah's voices, them echoing inside my mind as Sunghoon unlocked the door to my seat.
"Sunghoon," I called out as he snapped his gaze into my direction, eyebrows raised. I could clearly tell how much exhaustion was filled into those coffee brown eyes of his. "Is everything alright?"
He stared at me for a moment, looking over at my features before he darted his gaze back on the car, "Hurry up Areum, we need to leave. It's past 2 AM." He pushed away the matter, completely ignoring my question as he opened the car door for me.
His cold tone brought me upto the closure of the matter, as I didn't pry further. If he wanted tell me, he would when the time came. Perhaps, it just wasn't the right timing.
Or I wasn't the person he would want to share the matter with.

"Areum, you're not helping." Juyeon said, his voice soft as he reached out across the table, grabbing my hand, "I know that things are hard for you, but they aren't any easy for Sunghoon. He's helping you in every way he can, it would be great if you only return the favour."
I furrowed my eyebrows, "What do you mean that things aren't easy for him?" I asked as I raised my mug up near my lips, sipping onto the hot coffee, "If you're talking about yesterday, then I'm really sorry—"
"No, it's not about yesterday. Didn't Sunghoon tell you that the restaurant is going to be shut for good until they run through the paper works and shit?"
"What?" I was shocked, clearly unaware of the fact as I almost slammed the mug onto the coffee table, "What do you mean it's going to be shut for good?"
Juyeon's doubts were cleared as he noticed me as a naïve, "The restaurant. Sunghoon owns it."
