I swam into my covers and before I knew it, tears were falling down my face. It wasn't because of sadness, the tears were mostly just full of anger. After about a few seconds of me crying, someone came in.

I was about to prepare a whole speech when instead, Mr. Lenner entered the room.

Now Mr. Lenner wasn't the typical nurse who acted like an asshole. He didn't judge me, I didn't judge him. In a way he was like a father figure. Easy to talk to, and pretty good looking.

"You okay Tori?" he asked, as he approached the bed.

"Nope, I'm in a great mood and just decided that crying was going to make my day even more perfect" I said sarcastically in between sniffles.

He breathed a laugh before saying "yeah I know that kinda was a stupid question."

"Especially coming from such a well educated doctor. Anyways do I need a check up or something?"

"Don't worry about that now, what's wrong?"

"Tomorrow is visiting day and once again, nobody is coming." He sighed. We both knew that nobody was going to visit me. And according to him, it was just a minor contributor to my time clock exploding. In other words, it pissed me off and made me self destruct.

"I know where you're coming from, I don't really have a family either."

"Really? Last time I checked, you had a picture frame with you and your family on your desktop." He laughed at the memory of that picture before turning away.

"Those were my relatives. My wife died not too long ago and I don't have any children," he said, trying to bite his lip.

"You wanna know what's funny?" I asked.

"Sure."

"When I was little, I used to call 911 and ask if I could talk to my dad. He got locked up before I was born, well at least that's what my mom and brother told me."

He breathed a laugh and for a split second, I actually felt like I did have some form of family that was still with me.

"Have you ever tried meeting your dad? He said. I could tell from his tone of voice that he was serious.

I actually had to think about that question.

"For the past 17 years, I assumed that my dad would probably be dead by now. I wonder why I didn't ever consider visiting him."

I got off the bed. Judging by Mr. Lenner's face, he knew that I was getting a little uncomfortable with the topic of conversation. I grabbed a few tissues and cleaned my face. Afterwards I grabbed my bookbag
and gave Mr.Lenner a hug. That man was a pretty good hugger.

2:15. Time for school. Well, just a classroom near the library. During my trip to class, I noticed that Rose was nowhere to be seen. We usually meet up five minutes before and walk to class together, but it was best for both of us if we gave each other some time.

I silently slid into my seat and took out my IPad. Thank goodness for the owners of this place, they had enough common sense not to waste trees like that. As everyone else approached the classroom, I noticed that Adam wasn't there. Maybe it was because he probably forgot where to go, I tried convincing myself.

Or maybe because he doesn't want to see you.

Fuck. He probably didn't want to see me. Our teacher, Mrs. Wesley, began writing letters and numbers on the board. The thing about learning was that I was pretty good at it before the alphabet decided to become involved.

I reached into my bookbag for my phone, when the teacher decided to call my fucking name.

"Yes?" I asked in annoyance.

"It seems like you're not paying attention."

"Clearly," I said, and the whole class erupted with laughter.

"Well then Tori, can you explain why you are so bored with my teaching?"

"I don't know, maybe because I don't find interest in listening to this bullshit if I'm gonna die before I get to use this knowledge anyway." Everyone seemed a little surprised by my words, everyone one else except for Mrs. Wesley. She wasn't exactly the type to give up so easily without putting up a fight.

"Well then, I guess you don't need to be in my classroom."

"Sorry Welch's , seems like somebody is a little sour today. I don't think anyone wants to be here right now, but the funny part is that you think we do." She glared at me for a few seconds, before sighing in defeat and returning to the board.

"Somebody seems a little extra fisty today," said a voice from behind me. I turned around to see who it was, and have him one of my fakest smiles ever.

"Coming from a boy who can't even remember what 1+1 is, that's nothing. "

Adam took a few seconds debating something in his mind before giving up.

"In actually, 1+1 always equalled one."

"And why is that? Is it because when two people fuck, they make one child?"

"Nope although that is something you should be saying from experience." I twitched my eye in anger at the fact that he remembered. We screwed a few times back when we were together, but why would he be bringing this up now?
I quickly remembered that I was supposed to answer.

"So then why does one plus one equal one?"

"Because two items of any kind put together creates one item. When we were born, we always started off assuming that two major objects created that one big indestructible force. Problem is, society always thought different. They believed that it was 2 because it added up to their sense of logic. It fit their image, so they brain washed everyone else to fit in their image as well. It's because of them that we're separated from society. We don't fit in their logic," he said through gritting his teeth.

As I took this in, I realized that once again he had a good point. People like us didn't fit in their sense of logic.

Stay on topic dumbass. Talk personal and watch yourself get rejected again.

"Wow, I didn't know you could take something as simple as 1+1 and turn it into a lecture. Congrats pretty boy" I said, with a huge smile on my face.

"Thanks sweetheart. I always did have a way of making people believe whatever I wanted them to, isn't that right darling?" he said, while returning the smile.

Damn. Whenever he opened up his real feelings just a little bit, it always made me smile. But then fuck up within two minutes.

Well played Adam, well played.

Aha! Wasn't that different? Some of you guys still believe that Adam is a giant prick, came blame you for that. So far, I figured that introducing his flaws would work out much more easier given the fact that we're kind of alike. Anyways, any comments, ideas, concerns, or questions aren't out of the picture. Keep on reading my peoples.
