"Gayoung, are you listening?" Subin asked, waving a hand in front of her face and snapping her back to reality.

"Huh?" she responded, looking up at him and suddenly realizing that all the other students were leaving the classroom. "Is class over?"

Subin sighed, shaking his head playfully at her. "What's gotten into you? You haven't been paying attention at all today."

She gave him a strained smile and got up, wordlessly shoving her books back into her bag. She didn't want to tell him what was bothering her.

Chan, that was all she could think about. The feel of their interlaced fingers. His eyes when he'd suggested they date. His dimpled smile. Her thoughts were full of him.

But would Subin understand? Would he even be okay with it... her dating his friend? Or would that make things awkward for the whole friend group? And what if they broke up... what then?

So many thoughts were flying through her head, and she really wished that she could just push them all away.

"I have something to tell you," Subin whined, shaking her arm.

Gayoung felt a real smile come to her face as she looked at him. He was adorable. "What is it? Is it more shocking than your other confession?" she teased.

He wrinkled his nose at her. "I'm not sure. But you know Hanse's motorcycle, right?"

The mention of that only brought back more Chan memories. Yes, she remembered his motorcycle. She remembered riding it with him to the movie theater. And she remembered meeting Chan for the first time.

"Yeah, what about it?" she prompted when Subin didn't offer any more information.

"Well, his father somehow found out about it and took it away. I think he sold it."

Her eyes widened. "What? Why? Wait... Hanse's father didn't know about the motorcycle?"

Subin tilted his head, studying her. "Do you not know who Hanse's father is? How do you not know any of us? Have you been living under a rock or something?"

Gayoung sighed and pouted at him. "I've been focused on my studies, okay!" she whined, trying to mimic his whining. "I don't have time to read all the celebrity magazines and find out about you guys. So tell me. Who's his father?"

"The famous piano player," Subin explained. "But anyway, no, his father didn't know. Ever since his mother died in a car crash a few years back, he's been super protective. Honestly, it's a miracle Hanse gets out of the house sometimes, especially during the month of her death. His father keeps him very sheltered and that motorcycle was like... his escape. You know? So now he's really sad. Come with me to find him, hm?"

"Okay, but let's hurry up," she said. "I do have a class now."

"If you were listening, you'd know that the teacher dismissed us twenty minutes early," Subin teased, bumping his shoulder against hers. "But yes, let's hurry and find him."
