Joshua's pov

"Debs! Hi! I have exciting news!" I spoke into the phone.

"What's going on m'dude?" She asked.

"Okay, so you know how I just got beat up and stuff, yeah?"

"Yeah...?"

"Yeah, well long story short, I was very drunk and walked to Kelly's house, don't ask why because I could not tell you, and Tyler was there!"

"Oh jeez, what did drunk Josh do?" She asked, laughing lightly.

I laughed and came to a stop at the red light. "Nothing! He like, cleaned up my bloody face and cooked me dinner and it was all really sweet! I asked him if he had plans on Sunday, now tomorrow, and he said no so I asked him to lunch!"

I hear her laugh as I turn onto the highway. "J, Tyler is in a relationship."

"I know! It's a friends date! It's not even a date! It's just two dudes hanging out."

"J, don't become to attached to him. I don't want to be the one to console you when he hurts you." She laughed.

I roll my eye and chuckle. "Well that's too bad because I already booked that appointment for us."

She laughed hard at that. "Okay, just be careful with that Josh."

"I will Debs, I will."

It was silent for a second before she spoke up. "Either way, that is super exciting. I hope you have a good time."

I smile to myself, feeling the butterflies inside my stomach. "I'm very excited. I feel like a teenage girl, Debs." I pull into Kelly's driveway and turn off my car. "Look, I gotta go now, I'll see you later tonight?"

"Yup! I'll see you then J!"

"Bye Debs." I giggle.

"Bye Josh!"

I hang up and let my head fall against my seats head rest. God, I'm so excited for Sunday.

//

"C'mon Jim!" I groan. He's taking forever! Just fucking piss already!

We're currently on a walk, and he has stopped at every fire hydrant just to smell it and keep walking. I normally like walking but cleaning a huge house pays a toll on the human body! I'm tired man!

"Jim if you don't fucking go pee, we will turn around and go home."

I know he wont answer me, but I know he understands me. I know he does.

We turn a corner and I'm too busy looking at the ground to realize I'm about to collide with someone else.

"Fuck dude, I'm sorry!" I said, helping him up from the ground.

"Shit, it's no big deal." He laughed, brushing the sand off his pants. "I should watch where I'm going."

"No, I wasn't even lookin-"

"Fuck, do I know you?" He asked.

I tilt my head to look at him closer. He kinda does look familiar. "I don't think so." I half smile.

"No, I definitely do! Holy fuck! Josh! It's me! Jordan!" He says, pulling me into a hug.

Jordan?!

"Dude what? What are you doing here?!" He asked, breaking the hug.

"Uh, I live here?" I laugh in disbelief. "Wow, Jordan? Really? I don't fuckin' believe it!"

"I know! It's been fucking ages dude! What have you been up to? Why are you back in Columbus?"

"I haven't been doing much! I just moved back like, almost four months ago. "

"Shit, and you didn't come see me?" He joked.

"I didn't know you guys were still here! And you know how I feel about our parents."

"Yeah, they moved a long time ago. Me and Ashley stayed though."

"Huh. No shit. Where'd they move? And why?"

He laughed nervously and scratched the back of his head. "You didn't get the news?"

I shook my head and looked at him quizzically. "No? What news?"

"Um, Abigail. She was in a car crash, died on impact man." He said frowning.

What the fuck?

"Really? Holy shit. When did that happen?"

"A few years back. She was 17." He said.

I shook my head in disbelief. My fucking sister died and I didn't even know.

"Fuck man. I don't...I wish someone contacted me and told me. I know like, circumstances and shit. But fuck."

Things fell silent for a second before he spoke again. "Who's this lil fella?" He asked, talking about Jim.

"This is Jim! He is my emotional support dog and he's the bestest thing in the whole world." I laughed.

Jordan kneeled and pet Jim, the latter instantly loving the attention.

"He's a little cutie!" He said standing back up. "Well, I should get going dude, but it was great seeing you! Where are you living? Maybe we could hang out again?"

"Yeah! You know that little shitty green café a few minutes back? I live right by there. Here, give me your phone and I'll put my number in."

He nodded and opened his phone, handing it to me shortly after. I added my number and saved it.

"There." I smiled, handing it back.

"Cool. Well I'll text you man, it was super nice to see you again!" He said, hugging me once more.

"Yeah! It was great to see you! I'll catch you later."

We broke the hug and went on separate ways. Huh. Jordan.

//

"Yeah, could I just get a small cheese pizza?" I said into the phone.

"Sure thing. That's all?" The lady asked.

"Yes ma'am."

"Okay, it'll be there in 30 to 40 minutes sir."

"Alright, thank you. Have a good rest of your day."

"Thanks, you too."

I hung up and placed my phone next to me. I picked up the remote and turn on the tv, scrolling through Netflix to find a movie to watch.

"Jim, what do I watch?" I said, looking at him.

He looked confused and walked away from me. "Rude." I laughed and continue scrolling.

Deciding on Donnie Darko, I drop the remote and lay down on the couch, waiting for my food. Jim walks back over to me, and gets on the couch, joining me.

"I'm so excited for Sunday, Jim." I say out loud.
