Joshua's pov

*one week later*

So, this is it. We're finally finished unpacking, the whole house is now fully furnished, we even just bought a dog house for Jim in the backyard. We have a house. We're home owners. This is so unreal.

"Well I need it by tomorrow, Jackie!" He yells into his phone.

"No, tomorrow! Not Thursday, not Friday and sure as hell not next week!"

"If I don't have it on my desk by tomorrow you're fired." He angrily hangs up.

"Jeez, what was that about?" I ask, standing in the doorway of his office.

He leans back in his chair, slightly smiling upon seeing me. "Fucking Jackie dude. She's been falling behind lately and as useful as she can be, I'm getting tired of picking up her slack. I already have so much shit I need to do, I can't focus on her work too."

"Well Jackie has never been my favorite. I'm proud of you for putting your foot down babe. It's hot."

He smiles and rolls his eyes. "I have to get back to work, is there anything you need?"

"No, I just wanted to look at you."

"You're distracting me, Joshua. This is very important." He says, going back to his computer work.

"You're cuteness is distracting me."

"Gimme a kiss." He says looking back at me.

I smile and walk over to him. "Yes Mr. Boss Man." I give him a quick kiss and pull away. "You're really are hot when you get angry."

He chuckles and gives me another peck on my lips. "Well I'll be even more angry if I don't get my God damn papers tomorrow."

I roll my eyes and kiss his temple. "Don't stress too much about it, love. Jackie has your back."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, whatever."

I mess up his hair and begin to walk away, only he smacks my butt once again making me glare at him.

"It's a nice ass, J. You can't blame me." He laughs.

"Don't act like I'm not the one who ruins your ass every night." I say, walking out of this room.

"I look forward to it every morning!" He yells.

I laugh and walk to our room, slumping down on our bed. I turn on the tv and leave whatever channel was on before.

Hm? What's that? Oh, you wanna be caught up in our lives! I see, okay, well where do I begin? I guess, well we moved from Columbus, Ohio to Elkins, West Virginia. It's a small city, a population of I believe 7,000. It's nice, a very pretty and homey place. The people here are so nice, our neighbors were very excited that someone moved in. They said 'it's been years since we got a new couple in this neighborhood' so I guess we did them a favor.

My job at the record store was going great, but Tyler was kinda right... no he was completely right. He thought Linda was hitting on me, slowly trying to make a move and she completely did. Kinda, literally forced her way on me and kissed me. I sued her, the company really and got a lot of money. So we took that money, bought a house and moved here. I've been looking around for jobs, at the moment I'm doing small things around the city and I'm being paid by like, the Mayor himself so that's pretty cool. I don't really know how it happened, one of our neighbors introduced me to his son, who then introduced me to the Mayor's wife because the kid is friends with the Mayor's son, and then I met the Mayor and his family. He asked if I had a job already, I don't so he said he'd make sure to pay me if I find myself cleaning up the streets of Elkins. And of course I can't say no to the Mayor himself, so I do that from time to time.

Tyler, he's been taking online business school classes and he's trying to start a record company. As of right now, he just started a job being a music teacher for the high school down the street. On the side, besides the online classes, he's a songwriter. It started with him promoting his own music all over social media, of course his family is telling everyone they know to listen to him, and he slowly got his name out there. His Instagram started getting flooded with followers, and people just telling him they love his music. Eventually, small and aspiring musicians reached out to him, asked if he wanted to collaborate and make some songs together. He's worked with a total of twenty different small musicians, and most of them got big because of his songs. He's writing for mainstream companies, writing jingles and songs for commercials. He's been offered a job by this record label out in Cali, but he turned it down. Said he already has plans for his own company, and he doesn't want to move across the country just yet.

He's getting there, man. He's doing so well, I knew he was going to do something with his life but this is just... I'm so proud of him and what he's doing. Just the other day, someone on Instagram said Tyler saved their life with his music. Knowing that my husband is out here, doing this kind of work and he just got started makes me so happy. Every time I think of him I basically cry, I can't wait to see what else he has planned.

"I'm so tired." He groans, crawling into bed with me.

I look down at him and smile and begin playing with his hair. "Well you should rest now. You've had a very long and stressful day."

He nods, his eyes slowly closing. "Will you read me the book?"

I chuckle, reach over to my bed side table and pull out the hard cover book. I flip to where I last left off as he slides closer to me, he rests his head on my lap and snakes his arm around my waist.

"Thank you." He mumbles.

"Of course love." I say. "Lunchtime," I begin reading. "Where the lonely and friendless go to be devoured. I told myself that by the time I made it through the food line, the universe would, in an uncharacteristic fit of benevolence, find a way to show me where I was supposed to sit. Some girl from one of my morning classes would take pity, wave me over and then boom, instant BFF's."

(this one suckkksss, buts its just a filler before the last chapter :'))
