"Hey you two! You guys managed to find this place alright?" All Might calls to you both as you walk into the cool empty gym, you simply wave to him while Izuku responds."Hi All Might, sorry to keep you waiting. We got caught up with a crowd of students and got a little behind, and Y/N-"
He pauses, and looks towards you too see irritation on your face, as you shake your head and say nothing. You notice his internal struggle, since you were asking him to lie to his number one idol. But you gave him a look that pleaded with him not to mention your minor panic attack towards your temporary guardian.
He ultimately gives you a soft smile, and continues to speak about your delay.
"Y/N flew us here to be on time." He lies, a slight falter in his voice. You knew it took a lot out of him to lie to his role model, and you mouth a 'thank you' to him. He nods back, with one of his sympathetic grins gracing his round features.
"Ah, I see. Well, now that you both are here, we can finally begin our first training session for the sports festival. You guys change into your gym uniforms, I'll wait out here until you guys are done."
"Ok All Might, we'll be back real quick!" Izuku remarks while running off into the boys locker room, you head the opposite direction to the girls. You mindlessly began to change, until you caught a glimpse of yourself with your bare chest in the locker room mirror.
With further inspection you began to hyper focus on your scars, really looking at them instead of staring for a moment and then looking away in disgust.
When did I acquire so many? This is what Izuku and All Might saw in the infirmary?
Your body was a tapestry of failures, pain, and weakness. Some of the scars came from your time back home due to training, majority was from time traveling, but some were from your own hand. A dark time in your life where you thought ending yourself would end the misery around you.
That is until some of the boys saw you and immediately stopped you, many tears were shed that day. They, for the first time, felt what it was like to almost lose someone they loved. Perhaps that would inadvertently teach them to survive right?
It didn't. The only difference was they were gone, while you were stuck being alive surrounded by their corpses.
You sometimes wished that they wouldn't have saved you, and let you go. Maybe you wouldn't have this much pain in your heart, maybe you would have been happy.
At peace.
Then there was the one right under your chest, it was the largest and most lethal one you've gained, it's existence quickly bringing you to tears.
"Jesus, Y/N stop thinking about that. He won't do it again. It was a long time ago and I've learned how to avoid that event from happening again." You say to yourself as you swipe a couple of tears away from your eyes, trying to regain your composure.
You never truly and in depth looked at that scar, it brought too many memories from a timeline that haunted your nightmares. But to face trauma one must accept that it's there rather than avoiding it, this was just such a hard pill to swallow.
"Y/N, you ready?" All Might yelled across the gym, waiting for you with Izuku by his side. You snap out of your daze and quickly finish changing, fumbling over yourself by changing while trying to fit your wings nicely through the holes your uniform had.
"Coming!"
"What took you so long?" All Might wonders with a raised eyebrow.
"I just got... distracted."
