- Chapter 40 -

After a couple days off after the sports festival, it was time for class 1A and the rest of U.A to get back to school as well as train for the upcoming internship opportunities that are given to you all from the pros who watched the festival.

You got ready that morning alone due to All Might leaving early for hero work as usual, as well the both of you needing space from each other after everything that was said the day before. From knowing the truth of All Might's true intentions with you as well as him knowing the truth of One for All's beginnings made yesterday morning very overwhelming for the both of you.

You two made up the best you could, and haven't spoken much since, which you thought was for the best for the time being.

You also haven't been to the Angelic Vestige world since the night of talking with Melissa about everything that happened since you guys last called one another. Truly so many new occurrences and interactions have occurred during the break that it makes you anxious just thinking abou it.

It was always difficult to indicate whether the new interactions and events happening in every timeline was a good or bad thing, as seeing new things happen can mean that you aren't going through the same path as last time.

However witnessing new events happen could also make everyone worse off later.

It was difficult to pick and choose what you thought was best to change and what was best to leave the same, nervous that your plan would go wrong in any way if you were to change the wrong event at the wrong moment. Ruining everything in the future.

Nevertheless, you laid this burden in yourself, and you were going to see it through even if it killed you.

You were calmly walking to school with your headphones in as usual, listening to one of your favorites at the current moment.

The atmosphere that the piece created helped you clear your mind, reset your brain back into education and school mode. The song filled your ears with peace and quiet as it muffled any outside emotions from filling your mind to the point of a headache, which was the last thing you needed before seeing your classmates again.

As you were walking closer towards the main entrance, some familiar faces began to show up along the way, a couple of which greeted you on the way to class.

You noticed Eijirou Kirishima walking towards you along with Mina Ashido and Denki Kaminari, all of whom wanted to greet you and chat before the day began.

"Hey! Y/N!" Mina called with a large enthusiastic wave, jogging towards you with a grin. She was always a comforting figure throughout your first year at U.A, one of the few students that rarely if at all changed during every timeline. One of the few constants in your time traveling experience that you can rely on no matter what.

You wave back with a small smile, slowing down for her and the other two boys to catch up with you.

"Hi, Ashido. And Kirishima... and Kaminari." You say quietly, showing little emotion.

"Good morning Y/N, we're all just talking about our break. How was yours?" Kirishima asked kindly, his warm and inviting smile already making you feel more relaxed by the second.

"Um, it was alright. I was able to catch a little bit of sleep, but I also trained a bit to not lose the momentum I gained from the sports festival." You respond, putting away your headphones while speaking.

"No way you were still training even during our break? Man no wonder you won, you seem to always be working hard every second you get huh?" Kaminari says, slightly envious of your constant motivation to train and work harder.
