Katsuki Bakugo pov

What....

The fuck....

Just happened..?

Bakugo reminisced on the events that just occurred, your words, your demeanor, your very aura that emitted around you. It was so tense to the point that even he had to hesitate, which he never would have believed he'd do, especially around you.

He respected that regardless of how utterly annoying and enraging you could be, you were in fact a powerful rival. Of course not stronger than him in his eyes, but powerful, definitely one of the strongest in the entire class. Bakugo considered you a fair opponent, a worthy stepping stone to help him move forward on his path to fame and glory.

However, ever since your very first appearance in class 1A, Bakugo always felt something... off about you. As if you're someone completely different compared to everyone else, someone whose intentions were strangely unclear. Which shouldn't be the case if you're going to the best hero school in Japan. You were an enigma, a phenomenon perhaps, but someone who stuck out to him purely for existing.

He didn't particularly sense villainy though, he didn't see you as a threat to his safety unlike the USJ villains that attacked earlier. If anything, the glint behind your eyes showcase the desire to protect others, to keep everyone in your class safe.

But Bakugo noticed your mysterious rage towards that white haired villain, the one with multiple hands attached to his body. Your very character and rationale completely transformed into this aura of deep and passionate anger, he has never witnessed someone emulate so much pain behind every single movement. And if you weren't frustrated you were tired, but an exhaustion that is most likely much more complex than a lack of sleep.

You were just... different from everyone else, otherworldly even, as ridiculous as that sounded in his mind. But there was no other way to describe the sensations he felt whenever he was around you, yet what's even more ridiculous is that for some bizarre reason all of this was familiar somehow.

From his interactions with you, to the suspicions he has of you, to even your very existence, all of it was familiar somehow.

I will get to the fucking bottom of all this. Y/N isn't who she seems to be, she's not a threat but... My mind won't stop spinning unless I figure this out.

"I'm onto you... feathers."

Your pov

You heard Bakugo's thoughts weigh on your mind, they were so loud it was almost as piercing as the explosions he creates. You yearned to go back to him, cry in his arms and spill everything that has been filling you with so much pain. Bakugo has been your dear friend before, a few times in fact.

Since he is so surprisingly intelligent and clever, he always without fail had suspicions about you. Depending on your next move indicated whether he would ask you up front, tell the U.A staff, or never mention them at all to anyone. You have tried all those options to see whether the output of the future changes for the better, and it never does.

The best case scenario for you was for him to either walk up to you so that you could defend yourself, or  for him to keep quiet. They were bizarre claims for Bakugo to make in the first place, but he would never lie, and teachers know that for certain. Bakugo was many things that considered him rough around the edges, but he would never be dishonest.

That's just the kinda guy he was.

You couldn't read his mind, but detected slight determination from his emotions, most likely meaning he was determined to figure you out, or determined to defeat you in the final tournament match.
