- Chapter 41 -

"I. Am. So. EXCITED! Are you excited, cause I'm excited!" Mina gushed, holding the briefcase that held her hero suit.

She bounced on Kaminari's arm, barely able to contain her excitement while he could barely control his nerves.

"Quiet, and show some respect. You represent U.A and what the hero course is capable of from here on out. I expect you all to be on your best behavior." Aizawa groans out, a sigh escaping his lips.

"Yes sir." Class 1A responds.

You were in the back beside Iida, as you both were headed in the same destination. When you first told him of the fact that you were also going to Hosu city for an internship, you could feel his pent up rage bubble deep within his stoic exterior.

"I see, and why exactly did you choose Hosu city of all places to intern? I honestly expected you to go with Midoriya since you guys seem so close."

"I just visualize myself getting a better understanding of Japan's city landscape in a busy area such as Hosu." You respond.

"My quirk works better in a large, wide open area anyway."

Iida simply hums, his frustration evident in his face, whether he was trying to hide or not.

"Plus.." you whisper, getting close towards his right ear.

"I know what you're up to.. and don't think for a second I'm going to let you do it alone." You glared, squinting your eyes to reflect his perplexed ones.

His eyes widened while his head jerked away from yours, red staining his checks as his expression grew even more irritated.

"You don't know what you're talking about." He responds, not having much of a counter to say.

"You're right, I don't know, but I do have a suspicion of what you're up to. And if I'm right, I want to be there for you when you'll eventually need my help." You state flatly, looking forward, no longer holding eye contact.

You could feel Iida's confusion, anger, grief, and stress. It was all whirring in his brain, barely allowing him to breathe or calm down his thoughts, they were only getting louder.

Inside both of your heads.

"I can assure you, nothing is going to happen. And if anything did, it would be none of your business."

"Whatever you say, Ingenium."

You using his brother's hero name must have hurt Iida more than he thought it would, the name didn't suit him, not in the same way it fit his elder brother. In fact, it made Iida feel almost uncomfortable in his own skin having you say that name.

"Why did you call me that?" Iida asked angrily, as you both walked towards your train.

"I saw you erase that name on your board before putting your own name, I know that you truly want your hero name to be that of your brother's. It suits you better rather than your own name." You respond matter of factly.

"Well, I don't appreciate it, please never call me that again. Got it, Y/N?"

You glare at him, making him flinch discreetly. But you say nothing, deciding to not agree with him to those terms.

The audacity of him. He can be so rude when he's not in the right state of mind, I can feel his rage growing. Like a fire that's unwilling to extinguish, burning my skin inside out.

I feel for Iida, but fuck.

You both enter the train, as the rest of class 1A disperses to their respective destinations. You as well as Iida stand closer as the train becomes clustered, your head aching in pain as more and more emotions muffled your own thoughts.
