Summer holidays had arrived. Harry was relieved. The last few months have been horrible for him.

In and out of hospital, after falling asleep, ending up breaking bones as he fell. School was awful.

Most kids were OK with him, but there were a few that would laugh and take the piss out of him, going as far as stalking him just waiting for him to fall asleep.

He loathed school, and Anne often struggled to get him to go.

Now it was July and no school for six weeks, he hoped it would go slowly.

He was depressed and a visit to the Doctor confirmed it. More medication to take. If he could jump up and down he would surely rattle. But he can't jump, so he'd never know.

Louis was brilliant though. He was now spending every weekend at his house.

"Morning Harry." He said, waking up and seeing Harry looking at him from his own bed across the room.

Harry waved, tiredly, he'd only just woken up too, after a bad night.

Louis climbed out of his bed and over to Harry. "Budge up." He said as he pulled the blanket back.

Harry moved and Louis got in. They cuddled. "I love morning cuddles with my Harry."

Harry smiled. "Love you Lou Lou."

"Love you too. How are you feeling?"

"Tired. Glad school finished."

Louis knew about Harry's troubles at school. Quite often he'd seen what those kids did, and he always tried to protect him. He wishes he had done a better job of it though.

"Yeah. Me too. Let's try and make this summer the best."

This summer, the pool was set up in Harry's garden and it was already full and ready to be used.

It was a lovely sunny day.

"You ready to go in?" Louis asked as they walked into the garden.

Harry wasn't sure. Because of his condition, the only way he could go in the pool was with a special ringed float around him. If he was to fall asleep in the pool, the result could be devastating. Harry didn't like the float, but he loved the feel of the cool water when the weather was so hot.

Louis helped him into the pool. They both shivered as they got used to the temperature.

Louis held Harry's hands as they made it to the centre of the pool.

"You ok?" Louis asked. Harry nodded, lifting his feet up off the floor and floating.

Louis smiled. He wished he could get closer to Harry but the float was in the way.

They had a good hour in the pool. Anne told them not to be in longer than that, as it was likely Harry could fall asleep. So they made their way to the edge of the pool to get out, but Harry fell asleep before they could get out.

Louis panicked a little bit. He called out for Anne while he made sure Harry was as comfortable as he could be.

"Oh God." Anne said as she saw the sight.

"We were just about to get out. I'm sorry." Louis replied.

"It's ok love. Hopefully it won't last long. Are you ok there or shall I come in?"

"No. I'm fine. The float is taking his weight."

And they waited.

Fortunately, he woke up only fifteen minutes later. But he was confused and scared and splashed about a bit.

"Harry, it's ok. You're in the pool, but you're safe. Can you calm down?" Louis said as he held Harry.

He calmed down eventually.

"You ok Harry?" Anne asked, relieved that he was ok now.

"Get out please?" He whispered, still feeling a bit anxious.

Louis helped him out and they sat on the grass next to the pool.

"I'm sorry. We should've got out earlier." Louis said as he hugged his friend.

Harry was shivering in Louis' arms as Anne placed two towels around them, sitting down next to Harry.

"You ok love?" She asked as she rubbed the towel over his shoulders.

He nodded. "Can we go inside please?" He asked.

They helped him inside. They got dried and dressed and he sat cuddled up on the sofa with Louis.

"I...I don't know if I wanna go back in there." He said as Louis stroked his arm.

"I'm sorry that happened. I understand if you don't want to."

"You can still go in though."

"I don't want you to feel left out though."

"I won't. I want to see you have fun."

"Why are you so amazing?"

"I'm not. I'm broken."

Louis always hated it when Harry said that. "I wish you weren't. I wish we could swap places so you didn't have to suffer any more."

Harry rested his head on Louis' chest. "I wouldn't want you to do that. I wouldn't want you to hurt like I do."

Tears trickled down Louis' cheeks.

He was going to reply, when he noticed Harry was asleep.

He allowed himself to cry more. Harry was hurting and Louis was hurting because of that.

Why is life so unfair? He thought as he held Harry tight.

"I'm not ever letting you go Harry. Never." He promised.
