Grayson's P.O.V.

The orphanage always made my heart hurt.

"We have to fix this.", I whispered to Dylan.

"We will. It just takes time Gray." A very overwhelmed woman came through the broken front door holding two babies,

"Want a kid?", she asked.

I-I'm Grayson  Taylor. I own the orphanage now and-"

"We don't have any money if that's what you want."

"I- Um- No, no I-I would really like to get to know the kids here."

"No you don't.", she scoffed.

"I really do. You can go if you'd like." She quickly passed me and Dylan each a baby,

"Good luck getting me to come back.", she muttered before walking off. Dylan sighed,

"Now what?"

"JJ leave her alone!", I heard a boy scold. I looked to Dylan,

"That." I walked into the building and to the room the yelling came from. When I opened the door, the whole room fell silent. I heard a child whimper and another shush them.

"I-I didn't mean to be loud ma'am.", a boy said from next to the couch, facing away from us. A small girl with tangled black hair looked up at me and gasped,

"Bubba!", she whimpered, running to the boy. He turned around and stood up, blocking us from the other kids,

"Cops?" I shook my head,

"No, I own the orphanage now. My name's Grayson and this is my brother Dylan." He sat back down by the couch, where I now noticed a very sick looking girl laid. The girl with black hair ran over to me, tugging on my shirt,

"Mister?" I crouched down to her,

"Yes love?"

"Is you here to help us?" I nodded,

"I am." The baby I was holding began to cry as I stood up, trying to quiet her. An older girl who'd been in the corner watching walked over and took the baby, her eyes not leaving mine. After trying to quiet her for a few minutes, she sighed,

"Luke she's hungry. Everyone is." The boy, Luke, stood up,

"Okay, watch the others. Especially D. I-I'll figure something out." He went to leave but I gently grabbed his arm, making him jump away from me,

"Sorry. Where are you going?", I asked. He glanced at the older girl and sighed,

"Sometimes the neighbor lady puts out milk for stray cats. We-We steal it for the babies. And a nice old lady down the street gives us expired food sometimes." I shook my head,

"A lot of things are gonna change you guys. No more stealing food or anything. Dylan-"

"On it.", he said passing me the baby. Luke quickly took him first,

"We don't really trust strangers." I nodded,

"I understand." Dylan left to buy food as a boy in the corner turned around,

"Strangers are bad." Luke turned to him,

"Young man you have four more minutes now. No talking." The boy rolled his eyes,

"Whatever."

"Ten more minutes."

"What!? B-"

"Keep going. We've got all day and there's a lot of work to be done around here. You really wanna do it all by yourself?"

"No.", he grumbled. Luke glared at him,
