Mia's P.O.V.

"Love, I want to help you more and I will, but this is the extent of what I can do, legally, without your dad knowing. We gotta tell him.", Dimitri whispered as we stared at the small ultrasound. I nodded,

"I-I'll tell him tonight."

"I'll be right there with you."

~~~~
I laid the ultrasound on the kitchen table, trying to get out words.
"Oh. R-Really?", daddy asked, clearly trying to be positive.
"I-I need you to sign off on me getting an abortion.", I whispered, "I can't do it without your permission." God, what if he says no?
"Okay." He paused, "Mia you and Chase aren't stupid. I-I didn't know you were... doing that... but you guys are smart. Is-Is it his?"
"Yeah. And we aren't really speaking."
"Does he know?"
"He doesn't deserve to know." It was quiet for a second.
"What happened?"
"I-I snuck out the other week and-and I went to his house. Zach was gone and he wanted to mess around but I just- I wasn't in the mood." I paused, "He-He wouldn't stop. He wouldn't listen to me. I made Dimitri come get me when Chase was done."
"Mia I'm so sorry baby.", daddy whispered, "Is there anything I can do?" I shook my head,
"No I just- I just need this to happen. Soon. I need it gone, I need the situation over with."
"Okay. I'll call tomorrow."
"Thank you."
~~~~

"Hey.", Dimitri said softly, sitting by my feet on the couch, "How's your head?"

"It still hurts." He nodded, handing me a glass of water,

"You should drink this."

"I'm not thirsty."

"I'm not asking love." I sighed, slowly sitting up and taking the water. "Thank you. I know you're struggling to take care of yourself so you need to let us take care of you." I nodded a little. "What's going through that head of yours?"

"I think I made the wrong choice.", I whispered, "And-And it isn't something I can just take back."

"You're right, you can't. It's normal to feel that way love. But, in my opinion, you made the right choice." I looked up at him,

"Really?"

"Yeah. You needed to get Chase out of your life completely and if you had the baby, that would have never happened. On top of that, you need to finish school and go to college and you shouldn't be responsible for another human at your age. You made the right choice for you right now. Kit made the right choice for her at that time. Everyone is different. Everyone can handle different things and everyone has different lives. I'm not saying you wouldn't have been a good mom, you would have and you will be someday, but right now it was the responsible choice to not put you or a baby through that situation." I smiled a little, laying my head on his shoulder,

"Thanks for always knowing what to say."

"I don't always know what to say love."

"Well it feels like you do. I always know if I come to you with something, you'll have something wise to say. Like an owl." He laughed a little,

"Well thanks kid." It was quiet for a minute, "For the record, I didn't know how to handle this situation. At all. When you called me I figured you guys maybe had a fight or something, I never imagined he'd do that to you. And it was really hard for me to keep that situation from your dad. I need you to trust me but I also cannot keep things from him, especially when they involve his kid. I thought a lot about what I should say to you about it, but there's really only one thing and it's that this whole situation sucks. So bad. And I can't do anything to fix it but I'll do everything in my power to make it better."

"You do make things better. Just knowing I'm not alone makes it better. And I'm sorry I made you hide it from daddy. I shouldn't have and I didn't think about how it'd effect your relationship."

"It's okay. He understood that you are the priority. To everyone here. And he would've done the same thing. It'd be different if I was like, helping you sneak out or get drugs. I was respecting your wishes, not disrespecting your dad's parenting."

"You're right."

"I know."

Dimitri's P.O.V.

"Woah, hey what's wrong?", I asked as Mason threw his backpack at the wall.

"Nothing.", he huffed, picking it up again and trying to leave. I stepped in front of him,

"Mason you don't get to act like this here. Sit down. Let's talk."

"Fuck you you're not my dad." I let out a breath, pulling him to the living room and sitting on the couch before flipping him over my lap,

"I may not be your dad but I am still in charge of you and I will absolutely call your dad Mason."

SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK! SMACK!

"Now, are you done throwing a fit?"

"Y-Yes.", he choked out. I gently helped him up, sitting him next to me,

"Good. Tell me what's going on."

"I-I just had a really bad day.", his voice cracked.

"Will you tell me why?", I asked softly, rubbing his back.

"I-I-I did really b-bad on my test and-and practice sucked and K-Kaden is mad at me and I can't do an-anything right."

"Hey, hey that's not true love. You do a lot of things right. And one test does not define you or your entire high school career. I'm sorry practice sucked but I'm sure Kaden isn't mad at you." I heard the back door open before Kaden stood in the living room,

"Mason what the hell is your problem today?", he snapped a little. Mason sunk down,

"I'm sorry I sucked. I-I'll do better. I promise."

"Your team is depending on you Mason. This game is incredibly important-"

"Mason's mental health is more important than a fucking football game Kaden.", I cut him off. He glanced at me, seeming to realize he was home and not a coach anymore,

"Y-You're right. Mase I'm sorry. Sometimes I forget I'm not your coach here." He sat on the other side of Mason, "What's going on?"

"I-I did bad on my test and practice was bad and I was mean to Dimitri and now you guys are mad at me."

"I'm not mad at you.", we both said quickly. I gently pushed his hair from his face,

"Kiddo I wasn't mad at all, I just needed to diffuse the situation. You rarely have a burst of anger and I knew something was going on and you needed to be brought back into reality. I was not at all mad at you and I forgive you for earlier."

"And I wasn't mad at you either.", Kaden added, "I was stressed out at practice but I wasn't mad. I know when you don't do great you're just distracted and you had a rough day. I get that. But a test is so far from everything kiddo. It'll be alright."

"Dad's gonna kill me."

"I'll talk to him. He won't be mad."

"Why don't you go take a shower? It'll help you calm down.", I suggested. He nodded, hugging both of us and leaving.

"I fucked up.", Kaden sighed. I shrugged,

"You're human. It happens K."
