Ashera's P.O.V.

My last hour before lunch began great. There was a girl in my class, Lily. She was really cool and popular and didn't even know I existed until today. She was fascinated with our sub for science- My brother. Disgusting, but it's a new friend.

"He's so hot."

"He's a dick.", I laughed.

"Ashera, watch your mouth.", Mr. Hensen scolded. I stayed quiet as Lily looked to me,

"Really? Don't take that! You have freedom of speech for God's sake!" I gulped but turned around,

"Mr. Hensen, I can speak however I'd like. I have freedom of speech."

"You're absolutely right. Why don't you stay back and we can discuss what the right entails?"

"Fine." The bell rang as everyone filed out and dread made it's home in my stomach.

"Ash-"

"I'm so sorry.", I cut off Mr. Hensen, "I-I didn't mean to be so disrespectful."

"So... why were you?"

"I-I just- I made a friend and that never happens for me and it seemed like a harmless thing to give into. I'm sorry. I know better than to cuss in school and I know there are consequences when I use my rights out of place." He smiled a little,

"You've gotten this lecture enough clearly. Get to class kid. I forgive you."

"I'm not in trouble?"

"No."

"Thank you!"

Zach's P.O.V.

Ashlyn and I were in the store, waiting for Ashera and Braxton to come back with ice cream, surely an excessive amount. A little girl ran around the corner,

"Daddy!", she yelled, running up to me and freezing, "Oops! Sorry mister!"

"That's okay kiddo. Do you need some help?", I asked, crouching to her.

"I-"

"Abby!" I looked up as Lily Conners ran up to us, "I told you not to run off and- Oh. Hey coach."

"Hey Lily. Sister?" She nodded, picking up the girl,

"Yup. C'mon, I found dads."

"Dads?", I questioned. She nodded,

"Two dads, one mom, three kids. It's like a comedy show." I laughed a little,

"I'll see you tonight Lily. Bye Abby."

"Bye!", they called, walking off as I turned to Ashlyn.

"That's Lily?", she asked. I nodded,

"Yeah."

"Z, I love you but... she's trouble. I can tell. You need to disengage before you get attached."

"Too late."

"Zach! You can't take anymore chaos in your life!"

"Remember what I told you about? When I was nineteen?"

"The cancer scare?" I nodded,

"I-I didn't want to be the end of my family. So I donated and I-I'm like 80% sure Lily is my kid." She sighed,

"Then find out. I'm by your side."

"I know my love."
