Mia's P.O.V.

"Mitri I'm fine, really.", I whispered as he wrapped a third blanket around me. 

"Stop. Just let me worry about you for a few hours Mia. You got thrown in the ocean in October for god's sake."

"Okay fine.", I sighed. He rolled his eyes a little, handing me a cup of hot coffee and sitting next to me, 

"You are gonna be the death of me."

"It's possible."

"Mia, time to get up kid.", Dimitri called, knocking on my door then walking in. I whined a little,

"No. I don't wanna go."

"Why not?"

"I don't feel good." He laid his hand on my forehead, 

"You don't feel warm."

"Not like... sick... like that..."

"You're sad." I nodded a little bit. "Okay. You can ditch today."

"Thanks Mitri."

"Sure babe. I'll come check on you in a bit, okay?"

"Okay."

"Mia?" My heart stopped as I quickly fanned at the air and tucked my vape under my pillow,

"Yeah?" Dimitri walked in and opened his mouth to say something but froze,

"Why is it like... hazy... in here?" He paused, "Are you fucking smoking?"

"N-No."

"Get up." I froze. He was gonna fucking find it. I'm screwed. "Mia, now.", he snapped.

"O-Okay." I sneakily tucked my vape up my sleeve and stood up. Dimitri pulled all the pillows and blankets off my bed, finding nothing, then put them back how they were, 

"Okay.", he sighed, "I'm sorry I didn't just trust you." 

"It-It's okay." Fuck I feel awful.

"Are you hungry?" I nodded. "I'll make you lunch."

"Thanks." He went downstairs as I paced my room for a few minutes, deciding I felt too bad to keep hiding it. "Mitri?", I said softly as I walked into the kitchen.

"You okay?", he asked from the stove. 

"I-I lied."

"About what baby?" I shakily put my vape on the counter,

"I-I'm really sorry I-I-I panicked." He was quiet for a second, 

"So you not only lied to my face but you've been vaping? Do you understand how much damage that shit does to your body?" I nodded a little bit,

"Y-Yeah. I-I just-" I paused, "I-I guess I didn't care anymore." He got quiet again before brushing his hand over my frizzy hair,

"Well I care about you. A lot. Which is why you're in a lot of trouble, okay?" I nodded a little bit. "But not right now." He passed me a plate of pasta, "Go eat, I'm gonna go outside for ten minutes, okay?"

"I-I'm really sorry."

"I know kiddo. It'll be alright." He kissed my head and walked out the back door as I sat at the kitchen table. I glanced at my phone, realizing daddy was on lunch as I called him.

"Hey kid, you okay?", he answered.

"I-I did a stupid thing."

"Hey, it'll be okay. What'd you do?"
