Dimitri's P.O.V.

"Listen, I'm more strict than your dad and I have more specific rules than him, okay?", I said to Mia as we sat on Kaden's bed. She nodded a little,

"Okay. W-What if your rules like... contradict daddy's? Or-Or vise versa?"

"I already wrote down my rules for you and gave them to your dad so we made sure that wouldn't happen. And if something changes later, we'll communicate that to each other and then you."

"Okay."

"To start, absolutely not backtalk or arguing or attitude, which I've heard are your main issues. If you have a problem, you need to talk to one of us, not lie or hide shit. No hurting yourself in anyway, that includes skipping meals or not getting at least eight hours of sleep. You need to be outside for awhile everyday and spend at least an hour with family, which I don't think is a problem for you. I don't do well with any kind of disrespect and all of your dad's rules still apply too, got it?" She nodded a little bit,

"I-I think so. That's-That's a lot."

"We'll work on it. I'll be lenient for a few weeks, but not for long. And if it helps, tomorrow we can sit down and write them down in a way that will help you remember them and you can put it somewhere you can see everyday, alright?"

"Okay."

"Any questions?" She messed with her sleeves nervously,

"Do-Do you like... d-do aftercare?"

"Love of course. That's the most important part of discipline to me."

"Okay good." She paused, "I-I have a history of-of hurting myself. I'm doing a lot better and I have therapy and meds but-but sometimes I still slip up."

"If you do, you just need to tell us, okay? No one will be mad at you, but I will punish you for it." She nodded a little bit before yawning. "It's late, you need to sleep." I picked her up and laid her under the covers in the middle of the bed, covering her up, "Do you need anything?"

"No.", she said tiredly.

"Okay. I'm gonna go brush my teeth and I'll be back." She nodded as I got up and went into the bathroom where Kaden showered.

"Mitri?", he asked over the running water.

"Yeah. Mia's mostly asleep.", I said going to brush my teeth.

"Good.", he said stepping out of the shower, "How'd it go?"

"Fine. She's a sweet kid, we already get along."

"I know. I'm glad."

"Was-Was I like... stepping on your toes earlier? Parenting wise?"

"No, not at all."

"Good. Please let me know if I am."

"I will but I don't think you will at all. I-I'm kinda glad she has a stricter parental figure now. She respects you and listens to you way quicker than me, which might change as she gets more comfortable."

"I know. I'm prepared for that."

"Good." He paused, "Listen, Mia gets attached really easily. And she can be really clingy and a lot to handle and-"

"Hey, hey. Kaden if I didn't want to co-parent, I wouldn't have signed the contract."

"She's a really sweet kid though."

"I know she is. I love her already." I paused, "I always wanted kids. But I wanted older kids who I could have real conversations with and communicate with. I wanted this."
