Evana's P.O.V.

"Study next time, got me?" I nodded a little, wiping my tears,

"Y-Yes sir." He awkwardly rubbed my back as I sniffled, "I-I have another test tomorrow."

"Okay. Do you want help studying?" I shook my head, standing up,

"I'm fine." I went upstairs to my room.

"Ready to let me help you yet?", Asher smirked from the hall.

"Nope."

"Evana maybe take the help.", Zayn said from the foot of the stairs. I nodded slightly, swallowing my tears and going to my room as Asher followed.

"It's okay to ask for help Evey.", he said softly.

"Whatever.", I muttered.

"Kid, c'mon. Why didn't you just let me help before?"

"Because I didn't want you to know how fucking dumb I am!", I exploded, "I don't understand anything and I'm stupid and I didn't want you to fucking realize it." His eyes darkened a little as he grabbed my chin in his hand,

"Don't ever fucking say that shit again Evana. You're amazing and absolutely anything but fucking stupid. If I ever hear you say some shit like that again, I'll beat your ass."

"It's true."

SMACK!SMACK!

"What did I just say!?" I laid my head on his chest,

"I-I'm sorry.", I whispered, all the tears and frustration of the week coming out.

"It's okay Evey. Let's it out."

Delilah and I had been friends forever, mostly because of our brothers. Alek, her brother, had custody of her like Zayn did of me and Ryder. Unlike Zayn, Alek worked at the school, giving Delilah no time away from him.

"Go fucking sit down.", Alek snapped as I walked into fourth period. I stopped for a second, soon realizing he was talking to a sobbing Delilah, not me. He looked livid. She quickly sat at her seat as his eyes fell to me and his whole demeanor changed,

"Hey kid."

"Hi. What's going on?"

"N-Nothing.", Delilah sniffled. Alek rolled his eyes,

"Save yourself the trouble and don't ask.", he muttered, "Delilah, stop fucking crying." She did so on command, something we'd both learned lately.

"Yes sir."

~~~~
I hid around the corner as Alek pulled Delilah into the hall,
"I can't fucking believe you."
"But I-", she stopped, looking down.
"No, say it. Please fucking make this worse Delilah. Go ahead."
"You won't believe me. It doesn't matter. You never believe me."
"You fucking lie to me!"
"You didn't believe me when I told you the truth either." She turned and stormed off towards the cafeteria as I followed, sitting in our usual spot. It wasn't long before Alek was also in the room, staring down Delilah as she pushed her food around. "Can I come over this weekend?", she whispered.
"Yeah. Always.", I nodded. Max sat next to her, his bubbly smile falling,
"What's wrong?"
"Just Alek again. I screwed up I guess.", she sighed, passing him her tray, "Will you eat this so he doesn't yell anymore?"
"Babe-"
"Max please." He sighed, taking the tray,
"Fine.", he snapped, getting up and leaving. Delilah let out a deep breath,
"Great. I'm gonna go throw up so I don't when Alek is screaming at me." She got up and walked off too, but the seat didn't stay empty for long.
"What's her problem?", Alek asked, sitting across from me.
"You. And you're a problem for me too."
"Why?"
"Alek, when your mom died, you got Lilah out to protect her from your dad. Now you're the reason she needs to be protected. It's on you that she isn't a person anymore, she's just some fucking robot."
"You're right. I-I just don't know how to fix it."
"Talk to Zayn. He can fix anything."
Zayn's P.O.V.
"I'm sorry I came here.", Zavier whispered, "I-I didn't know what to do."
"I'm glad you came here kid.", I said softly, cleaning up the cut across his cheek, "We'll figure it out and you're safe here." Zavier was part of our rival gang. But he was barely a part of anything.
"I-I thought you might kill me but-but either way I knew they wouldn't find me."
"Kid, you're fifteen. You didn't want to be in a gang, you wanted to be a part of something. I understand that and I don't blame you."
"I told them I wanted out. They drugged me, beat me, and left me for dead."
"I know. You're safe now. I promise."
Ryder and Zavier glanced at me for about the tenth time. I sighed,
"Boys, Asher handles things differently than the rest of us. If I go up there now, he'll just push me away." Asher had been upstairs sobbing for about ten minutes.
"Don't ever do that to me.", Ryder muttered, "I'd freak out. That feels like you don't care to me."
"I know. Asher understands I care about him too, he just needs a minute." It got quiet as I stood up, "I'll be back." I went upstairs, knocking on his door softly. It quickly swung open as he latched onto me,
"I-I hate he-her.", he sobbed.
"Shh, hey, calm down. It's alright kid." I led him back to his bed, sitting next to him, "What's going on kiddo?"
"M-My mom called me.", he sniffled, "Said she misses me. She said she fucking misses me after she walked out and fucking left us."
"I'm sorry Ash. Can I do anything to help?"
"I-I think I just need to rant and be sad." I nodded,
"Okay. I'm all ears." He messed with the rings on my hands absent-mindedly,
"She left when I was ten. My brother was eighteen and our sister was two. Dad came home drunk, hit Ashton a few times, then left. Mom packed her bags the next day. Ashlyn was four when dad threw her against the wall too hard and killed her. Ashton left a year later. I don't know where he is and frankly, I don't care."
"Kid he's still your brother-"
"He left me. He abandoned me when I needed him the most as I'll never consider him my brother because of that."
"No one here will ever leave you like that."
"I know Z."
I can understand shit happening and being a little late for curfew. Like, thirty minutes. Evana was creeping close to three hours late. At almost one, she returned my hundreds of calls,
"Bubba I'm so sorry!", she sobbed right as I answered.
"Evana where the fuck are you?"
"I'm-I'm at the hospital."
