DAMON'S POV
The house looked like a murder scene. There were handprints made of blood smeared across the hallway walls. Broken glass and various things they had in their house. I held her hand tightly as we went further into the house. The lounge was the worst place. There was a big circle on the floor made of black salt or something of the sort. There were various symbols scratched into the wooden floors. A skull on a pole that was at the edge of the circle.
"What happened?" "I can't remember, it's just blurry." She says looking around taking it all in. "Let's go get your clothes." She wasn't staying here. Whatever happened, wasn't normal. It looked to be a struggle. The window in the room was smashed. I looked at her dress and then back to the window. "Did you climb out the window?" I asked picking up the torn piece of fabric on the glass. "I don't know." She was getting upset again. "It's okay... It's okay." I tell her wrapping my arm around her.
"Let's just get your things together, we can figure this out," I tell her, I didn't like seeing her upset, she wasn't that type of girl you typically see upset. I think she was more scared than anything. As we moved about the house the struggle was clear, every room was turned upside down. "My bracelet." She crouched down and picked it up off the bathroom floor. It was almost like it shocked her as she threw it across the room.
"What?" I asked picking it up. "My dad." She whispered. "What about him?" I couldn't read minds. "He threw me against the mirror." She said tracing her finger over the cracks. "And then injected me with something." She was trying to piece together what was happening the memories slowly coming back to her. "I took my bracelet off and threw him against the shower." She said which explained the smashed screen.
"I got to the stairs and then I couldn't remember anymore..." She frowned. "You must have blacked out." She nodded. "I woke up in the lounge. I had something tube or something attached to me. And my mum was chanting..." "Breathe Z, breathe." I remind her.
"I want to leave!" She said sharply. "Go wait in the car. I'll get your things together okay." She wasn't comfortable being here. "Take this," I tell her handing her bracelet back. I know she liked to have it on. She didn't need it as much anymore but she didn't trust herself or her abilities. I think if she knew why her powers were so strong she'd feel more comfortable with them, but everyone is treating her like she is a child. And she's not. They need to tell her the truth before she figures it out for herself. She's too smart to be lied to.
All this time she's wanted to believe her parents are her parents so she's never looked for answers to the questions she's had she just believes what she has been told for an easier life to not disappoint her parents by questioning it. But now her parents are gone and clearly, something was going on and it's only going to cause her to look for answers and when she finds them I don't think she's going to be as understanding as she's been her whole life. She's been lied to. the person who's looked out for her, her whole life was practically employed by her bio dad to protect her. She's met her sister without knowing she's met her sister and she's had an encounter with her bio dad that she's been forced to forget.
I throw her things into a duffle bag and pick her repacked gym bag and school bag and walked out of the house. There was no real reason to close or lock the door. The house was trashed. I threw her bags into the trunk of my car and we drove to my place, a small apartment. She didn't need to be around everyone at the house right now. She needed space to process what's happened to her. Plus Care would just tell Klaus she was there and he'd come storming in and I'm not having him upsetting her any more than she is.

"Here take this." I hand her Elena's old necklace. It was filled with Vervain. "Why do you have this?" She asked clearly knowing what was in it. "That girl we spoke about." She nodded her big blue eyes looking up at me. "It was hers." "Damon I can't wear this-"I want you to have it... She'd want you to have it." She touched the locket looking at it before looking back at me. I wasn't taking no for an answer she was wearing it. It fell just below her M pendant. "I want you to be safe. If you're going to be around them." "I'm not." If only she knew. "Well, Marcel is friends with them so you will be. Plus that girl you taught magic to-"Hope." "right you going to just leave her to defend herself against them?" Her face softened. "So you're wearing it." She nodded. "Don't take it off." "I won't" She assured me, she closed her eyes still with it between her fingers.
