26: HeadButt

DAMON'S POV

Klaus had Aurora and me and Hayley ran through the abanded looking house, that was empty looking for Azalea. We tried to listen to her but I wasn't getting anything. "AZALEA!" Hayley practically screamed. "She's not here!" Aurora called to us and then began to laugh like an insane person, though I guess she is. 

"Where is she!" I ran at her pushing her against the wall. "WHERE IS SHE!" I shouted in her face, I didn't have the time for her mind games. "Bleeding out somewhere... God knows where she ran to." "What?" Klaus said taking over. 

"She escaped like an hour ago...Really classy... I guess she got it from the redneck." She said looking at Hayley. "She headbutted me." Hayley almost had a smile on her face. "Though I doubt she got far, she's got enough Wolfsbane in her system to drug a whole cattle farm." "I've had enough of you." Klaus snapped her neck and let her body drop to the floor. "Freya deal with her don't let her leave." 

We swept the rest of the house in case she was lying and Azalea was still here. "In here!" Hayley called, we ran down to the basement where Hayley was. There were blood and a machine. Chains too with an IV pole that was broken in half. "It's her blood," Klaus says, clearly smelling it. I was kind of glad I didn't have that heightened sense. "What's that thing?" I asked picking up the mask, it looked like a torture device. "It's to extract her venom from her bite... She must have needed it for something." Klaus says.

We were stood in a clearing in the forest that was close to the house. Klaus and Hayley had tracked her to here. But the trail had been lost about two miles ago. "You go that way. We'll go this way and your head back to the house." Elijah told us all. 

"AHHHHHHHH!" An ear-piercing scream echoed through the trees. It was painful birds flew from their nests at the sound of danger. "Or we could follow the scream of death," Kol says earning a punch from his sister. We ran in the direction of the scream. It wasn't coming from Azalea but an older woman who had icy grey hair, her dog was sniffing around a body. I assumed was Azalea. "I... I found her like this." She said pointing. Marcel dealt with the shaken women whilst Klaus and Hayley were knelt in the leaves tending to the body. 

"She's still breathing," Hayley says. I swear Z has 9 lives. She dodges death daily. "Azalea, Azalea wake up sweetie." Hayley tried. I sat beside her and held her hand. "Wake up Z.," I said to her. Klaus was feeding her blood but she didn't seem to be drinking it, it just dripped down her chin. 

All eyes were on her we waited for her to move, or open her eyes or do something. Suddenly she darted up and scrabbled away from us. "Don't touch me. Please. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." She wasn't here, she was in her head. She was living something that wasn't real. "Azalea wake up!" Klaus said firmly. "Snap out of it." Bex slapped her across her cheek as she was hyperventilating at this point. It seemed to do the trick though it wasn't the prefered method from Klaus. Who was now scowling at his younger sister. 

"Hayley." Her bottom lip wobbled. "It's okay, you're safe now." She shook her head. "She got it." "What?" "My venom, she got... and she's drank something and then she- I... I don't I." "It's okay." Klaus pulled her into a tight hug. "Marcel, Kol, Elijah head back to the house and help Freya, I've may have just given her a ticket to getting what she wants," Klaus tells them and they take off. 

"Hope." She said quietly. "She's at school safe." "No... We have to go there. we need to protect her." "Z you can't even keep your head up, you're not protecting anyone." "No!" She shouted at me. "No. They're going to get her." I think her brain was fried by that machine because she wasn't making complete sentences and the words she was coming out with had no relevance. "Calm down, look I'll call the school now okay."
