Chapter 37
Nurse

I thank the Heavens that no one entered inside the elevator. I could not imagine what would happen next if someone caught us. Well, destiny favored me.

I touched my lips once again. Nag-hilamos at toothbrush naman na ako pero bakit pakiramdam ko nandito pa rin?

He's driving me crazy! We just talked about boundaries but now... I'm thinking, how did we end up kissing?

Why did he kiss me? Oh wait, why did I kiss him back? 'Yung dating tuloy ay parang  gustong gusto ko pa 'yong nangyari?! Nakakainis, hindi ko na-control sarili ko.

"Buti hindi mo naabutan 'yong garter game, feeling ko maiinis ka rin." Mikee chuckled as she combed her hair.

"Garter game? Bakit ano meron?" My forehead creased. I did not remove my fingers on my lips. I continued playing with it.

"Si Margot kasi saka si Maxon 'yung napili. Buti wala ka roon. Ang gaga namumula pa sa kilig, tili pa nang tili kapag sinasabing 'higher.'" She rolled her eyes. When she saw my plain expression, she blinked twice and stuttered. "Pero mabilisan lang naman 'yon... madaling madali nga si Maxon e,  ta's hindi man lang ngumingiti." agap niya.

I was still playing with my lips while listening. I closed my eyes briefly. A scene played inside my head. I saw Maxon sliding the garter on that woman's leg. Patawa tawa pa ang dalaga habang hinahampas niya ang lalaki sa balikat dahil nakikiliti. Dinig na dinig ng audience ang mga halakhak niya kaya lalo silang nag-cheer. Everything was in slow motion as they both enjoy themselves.

"Higher!" sigaw ng host, kasabay ito ng malakas na cheer ng audience.

"Higher." Margot blushed; she traced his shoulders using her finger while chuckling.

Ang isa naman ay ngumingisi pa. He willingly slid the garter like what Margot said. She maliciously stared at Maxon, hinaplos niya pa ang kamay nito. She nodded her head, telling him to slide the garter higher, close to her thigh.

"Huy!" Mikee snapped a finger to catch my attention. "Ano'ng nangyayari sa 'yo? Kanina ka pa hawak nang hawak diyan sa labi mo?" Mikee sat on the other side of my bed.

"Wala!" humiga na ako at nagtaklob ng kumot. Ang layo nang narating ng imagination ko.

Gosh, I still can't believe what happened today. Those guys were making my head hurt. I was minding my own business, and then poof! They kissed me.

I was both mad and confused about everything. I only see Adrian as a close friend of mine, and then he kissed me tonight without my consent! While Maxon, on the other hand, was too busy flirting with his new girl earlier, then suddenly we ended up kissing in the elevator!

Well, I guess I really must practise self-control all the time. I won't allow myself to be deceived by his charming tactics ever again.

The following day, I tried to act like everything was normal. Nauna akong magising kay Mikee para mag-ayos. Sabi niya kasi ay sabay kaming mag breakfast. Sasama ako sa tour nila sa Cebu City ngayong araw. I want to bond with them, including the boys.

Mikee pressed the down arrow button. I played with my fingers while waiting for the elevator's doors to open.

Uminit ang pisngi ko nang maalala ang kagabi. Hindi na ata ako makakapasok sa elevator ng normal kahit kailan. Parang scene sa movie na nagre-replay sa utak ko ang nangyari roon.

"Pasok na uy," si Mikee pa ang humatak sa akin papasok sa loob. Hindi ko na namalayan na bumukas na pala dahil sa sobrang dami kong iniisip.

I moved backward when I saw that a few people were coming. When I felt the cold metal handle touched my skin, lalo kong naalala ang nangyari kagabi. Naalala ko kung paano ako umatras pero na-corner niya ako. Naalala ko rin kung paano niya ako napasunod sa mga halik niya. The memory of us was so clear, and it irked me so much.
