Chapter twenty-one: Call

Nagising ako sa sinag ng araw na tumatama sa mata ko, biglang bumungad sa akin ang dalawa. Si Luke kasama si Enzo na may dalang pagkain. I smiled before reaching for the food that Luke is holding. 

"Thank you, who made this?" Tanong ko bago itaas ang buhok ko sa isang talo. 

"I did this," Pinakita niya yung smiley face sa bacon and eggs. "Pero kuya made luto." Nagulat ako nang marinig siyang magtagalog. Medyo conyo nga lang pero he's still learning. 

"Wow, kuya Enzo teached you a little bit of tagalog?" Sumubo na ako ng bacon habang tinitingnan siya. Tumango naman siya bago magsalita ulit. 

"He also teach me the sentence, Mahal kita ate. He kissed my cheeks before sitting properly again. 

"Mahal din kita, Luke." 

"Nagseselos ako," sabi ni Enzo at lumapit sa akin. Akmang hahalikan niya ako pero tinakpan ko muna yung mata ni Luke. He chuckled before giving me a  soft kiss.

"Why you cover eyes ate?" 

"It's not for children, Luke."

"Ano pala plano natin ngayong araw?" Tanong ko habang nakatingin doon sa dalawa. Kung hindi ko lang sila kilala mapagkakamalan mong mag-ama. I couldn't help but smile, he's really good with children. 

"We will be going out and take Luke on a playground, then we will buy him new clothes and toys, and we'll be leaving Sapporo tonight. The agency is already mad at me, and mom wants us back at the house, Kakausapin daw tayo tungkol sa engagement." Tumango ako sa kanya bago tapusin ang kinakain. 

Nagpaalam si Luke at Enzo dahil maliligo na daw sila, ang bait talaga ni Okazaki. He insisted to take care of my brother even if he has so many on his plate right now. 

Bakit ba kami ganto? We're currently loitering around different places in Japan and not worry about our own work. Yung unang task na ibinigay sa amin hindi pa namin nasisimulan, well we already have a few thoughts about it but we haven't made our step yet. 

Then we also have the engagement, iniisip ko kung isususgal ko na ulit ang puso ko sa kanya. Kung itataya ko na ulit ito, am I even ready to move forward? I can't deny that it's more possible for us to end up together but the past is tryionig to catch up. And the pressure is so surreal. 

And the publick backlash against us, since yesterday neither Maverick or Jesse called for an update on who set us up. Those idiots will get fired if Enzo is not here to calm and cool my head. 

My head suddenly ached, is he controlling me? Ever since na sinubukan namin yan at napagusapan na icocontrol niya ako tuwing related sa issues na tinatakbuhan ko sa Pinas, hindi ko na alam ang difference ng normal headache at yung sakit ng ulo tuwing gumagamit ng hypnosis. 

Naalimpugatan ako ng magring ang isang cellphone, I checked my phone but it was not mine. Nakita ko ang cellphone ni Enzo na nagriring. 

Sisigaw ko na sana pangalan niya pero nauna na siya, "Darling could you kindly answer my phone for me?" Rinig kong sabi niya galing sa cr. Bakit ba kasi ang tagal nung dalawa? Baka naglalaro pa sila ng tubig sa bathtub, I sighed before checking who is calling. 

Si Saya, di ko alam pero biglang naginit ang dugo ko, bakit siya tumatawag kay Enzo ng ganito kaaga? At bakit siya ang tumawag? Hindi ba't yung dalawa ang inutusan ko? 

Umirap muna ako sa hangin bago sagutin ang tawag. "Yeah?" 

[Vesper?] Parang nagulat pa ata siya, tatanungin ko si Enzo tungkol dito. Kasi kung may namamagitan sa kanila lilipat nalang ako ng Korea may ibang kakilala pa naman ako doon. Ang kaso nga lang, they don't really tolerate violence and I won't fit in there. 

"Why are you calling this early? What do you need? If it's not connected to the job we left for the three of you there I'm going to end the call." Sunod sunod kong sinabi, may narinig akong tawa sa kabilang linya. Wag kang ganyan Saya, baka unti unti kong bunutin yung buhok mo. 

[Easy Mrs. Okazaki, We found out who did the set up. I don't know if you know him or not, but his name is Aidan Jane.] 

Nanlamig ang mga kamay ko... buhay siya? Nabitawan ko ang cellphone ni Enzo at natulala sa kawalan. That can't be, no. But there is a probability, why? Because we only declared him dead but didn't find a corpse. 

Narinig kong tumunog ang pintuan ng cr, tapos na yung dalawa. Naramdaman ko ang presensya ni Enzo sa likod ko, I didn't bother to look at him. Naligaw na ang utak ko, lumilipad lipad na nga eh. At kung may bagong iisipin pa ulit ako na darating baka pumasok nalang ito at labas sa kabila.

"Ayos ka lang ba? Who called?" Tanong nito at chineck yung call history sa phone niya, "Saya, ano sinabi niya sayo?" 

"Luke cover your ears," Sabi ko kahit sasabihin ko kay Enzo ng pabulong ang impormasyong nakuha ko. 

"Is it that serious?" Tumango ako, even if this is not that confidential this is still a sensitive topic. 

"Ang gumawa ng set up sa atin ay si Aidan Jane." 

"Okay, what about him? He has the same surname to Hailey, does that person have anything to do with her?" 

I sighed before answering him, "Yeah, Aidan is Hailey's cousin, he was also one of us back then. We had a mission here in Japan years ago, but he did not make it back to the Philippines, so we said that he died. But Saya said that the tracker or the IP connected to that camera is from Aidan Jane. We need to go back to Tokyo." 

"And how sure are you that he's in Tokyo, you should call Saya again and ask for the location of that mysterious man." 

May sasabihin pa sana ako pero biglang sumingit si Luke sa usapan, "Ate, are we still going to a playground?" Tanong nito. Me and Enzo shot glances, I don't know how to turn down a kid. Mukhang nakuha naman yun ni Enzo kaya siya naman ang kumausap sa kanya. 

"Luke, instead of going to a playground we're going to ride an airplane or you could say a small airplane. And your ate will be piloting it." 

"Wait, ate is a pilot?" 

"No, Luke. I just know how to pilot one. So come on, we'll get going in a few minutes. I just need to shower." 

I took a quick shower at nakita kong suot na ni Luke yung backpack ko at nakaready na sila. 

"Saya said that Aidan is located in Takayama, Gifu. It's a four hour ride, are you sure you want to leave now?" 

"Yeah, gusto ko lang makausap si Aidan at bakit niya ginawa yun." 

Nagcheck out na kami sa hotel na tinutuluyan namin at naglakad na papunta sa agency kung saan nakaparada ang private jet ni Enzo. Paulit ulit ding nagtanong si Luke kung saan pupunta, sinabi niya din na gusto niya pumunta sa Philippines pero ang sagot ko doon ay bawal pa. Hindi naman sa pagiging selfish ko, pero ayaw kong mapahamak si Luke sa mga nangyayaring bakbakan sa Pilipinas. You never know what he might get involved in there, pag nalaman na anak siya ng isang Stellard at Hendrix maraming magtatangka sa buhay niya. 

Pumasok na kami sa agency at maraming bumati sa amin. 

"Konncihiwa, agent Hendrix and Okazaki." I just smiled. 

Manghang-mangha si Luke habang inoobserba ang jet. "This is yours ate?" 

Umiling ako, "It's your kuya Enzo's. It's pretty right?" Pumasok na kami sa loob at nauna na ako sa pilot area. Sumunod naman yung dalawa at naupo sa Co-pilot seat.

"Behave on you kuya's lap ah, and don't touch anything." 

"Opo!"

"Agent Hendrix, and Okazaki ready for take off." Nagulat si Luke dahil narinig niya yung boses ko sa headset. 

"Fly heading two three zero, cleared for take off." Sagot ng taga agency. 

Even if it's mom's mistake having you, I will never regret on taking care of you.
