That's the first thing you said to him. Not "hello" or "my name's (Y/N)".

And you were regretting it now, thinking it was a stupid things to say, and how you probably made a bad first impression. I mean, he is the most popular person in school, so that wasn't a good starting point.
Now, how do you save yourself from your stupidity?
"I-I mean my name's (Y/N)."

"I'm Riku."
He...responded to you? And didn't think you were a weirdo for commenting on his eyes like that, when you didn't even know him?
Well, know him personally?
"Um..." Now it was awkward again, you didn't want to say the wrong thing and screw this new friendship up, and with a popular kid no less.
"You don't have to be so tense and stuff, I'm not that special." Riku chuckled at you.
Not that special?

IS HE CRAZY?!
...But he does have a point, he is still a normal kid after all. Getting good grades, playing video games, has hobbies, and hangs out with his friends. And is usually only a jerk in front of the popular crowd.
"Do you wanna hang out after school? My parents bought me that new game you were talking about yesterday. I-I mean I wasn't intentionally listening in on your conversation, I just...happened to hear it..." Riku was a little flustered now, which you found adorable but wouldn't say that out loud. You've probably creeped him out enough for one day.
But if you did that, he wouldn't be inviting you to hang out after school, now would he?
"Sure, I'd love to hang out after school!" You grinned at him, trying to ease his nerves. Playing games was pretty much all you did anyway, regardless of your grades. You could probably get straight A's if you wanted to.
"All right, I'll see you then." Riku left to go to his next class, leaving you standing in the hallway.
