Motives make life meaningful. These humanly desires bring forth the best and worst of people, always without fail.
Dancing..
What was his motive? Was he dancing for himself? Why did he first decide to dance?
It was because of his mom.
His mom loved to dance so so much. She'd dance with him all the time. And when Hoseok showed interest, she jumped at the chance, putting him in classes.
Dancing became a reprieve for him too. Passed down from his mom, he held onto it with everything that he had.
When Mother and Father first met him and tried to take it away, he wouldn't let go. The hobby being something he loved so strongly that he had earned so many beatings from doing it over and over again.
So when he lost it; lost all motivation to live, lost all of the happiness he used to get from dancing--It was hell.
"Do you wanna twist around more when you look back and step out?" His dance partner asked him, demonstrating the movement with his own body. Hoseok watched in the mirror, eyes wide and alert. He was always serious about dance. Which was probably why dance was so kind to him.
"Like this?" Hoseok asked, trying to copy Eunwoo. Eunwoo shook his head, and walked closer to him.
"Mind if I show you?"
They were in the practice room at the mansion. Hoseok found himself calling the house "the mansion" because still, he couldn't see this place as home. All of the boys were home currently which was a rare occurrence, but they'd be of no bother to anyone. When Seokjin was happily telling the boys about the practice room he had made for them, he declared that the walls were soundproof so you could speak or play music as loud as you'd like without bothering anyone else.
After receiving a nod from Hoseok, Eunwoo placed his hands carefully on his waist. He slowly moved his waist in the direction where he thought it should be, counting out the steps as he did so.
"1, 2, now turn your head to the left," he said, looking up in the mirror to make sure it looked right.
Jimin knocked on the door but it wasn't heard with the song that was blasting loudly on repeat.
He opened it without hesitation, carrying two water bottles. His smile fell immediately at the sight of Eunwoo's hands on Hoseok's waist, water bottles falling out of his hands. And he lost all sane thought in his head.
Rushing forward, Jimin punched Eunwoo as hard as he could. Eunwoo stumbled back, falling to the floor. Jimin's jaw clenched, body moving to strike the boy again.
Hoseok stopped him before he could. Hugging him tightly from behind but Hoseok was anything but happy with Jimin. He wouldn't defend him like he always did. This was completely insane. Punching one of his friends and for what? Because he was helping him dance?
