It was an explosion of fireworks after I whispered those words to him. Neither of us cared about the rest of dinner, about the wine that was getting warm in our glasses. All that mattered was the need to get as close to each other as possible.

He stood up, supporting me under my butt as he stood and moved us to the bedroom. I needed to thank him for including that option later. Our mouths never disconnected until we finally made it to the bed and he set me down on it, standing back to look at me while I looked back up at him, following his every move.

It didn't take long for him to lean back over me, a new found burst of excitement rippling through my body.

"Make love to me Riles?" I said as his hand came up to cup my cheek and his lips crushed against mine.

I wish I could say that it was hot, heavy, and sexy as we ripped each other's clothes off and made love to each other, but it wasn't.

We took our time in between kisses. Slowly removing each other's clothing, just admiring each other and the comfort of the whole situation. We savored each other, each touch, each kiss, every delicate feel of skin touching skin until there was nothing left to separate us.

One look in his eyes, those rich chocolate colored eyes with flecks of hazel, was all it took to know I was making the right decision. That no matter what came tomorrow or the day after, this, right now, was all that I wanted and needed in this very moment.

Our bodies connected together as I met him thrust for thrust as he rolled his hips into me again and again. We had done this so many times before and yet somehow it felt different this time, more permanent.

It was almost as if right here in this moment, his actions were speaking the unspoken words I needed to hear so desperately. He was mine.

He didn't increase his pace, instead drowning out my moans with his mouth as he continued his slow and intense movements, building me further and further into complete bliss.

I was the water in the ocean slowly building a wave as I approached the shore. My legs shook as I got closer and closer until finally I crashed, my eyes rolling back into my head as white spots clouded my vision.

He got up soon after and walked to the bathroom to clean up as I laid back on the bed. I wanted us to talk, really talk, about what we both wanted and how we were going to make this work without rushing too much too fast.

It was clear that the physical attraction was still there and I hoped that meant that we could still have normal conversations as well. My doubts were still there though. The doubts that reminded me that a lot had changed in four years and even if we were still physically attracted to each other, we were not the same kids that fell blindly in high school.

Unfortunately my body had other plans as my eyes closed heavily and I fell asleep, vaguely sensing his body pulling me to him before everything went completely black.

When I woke up the morning sun was shining through the window as my face rested on Riley's chest.

"Shit!" I yelled. "Riley get up!"

"What's wrong?" He startled.

"We were supposed to be home last night. We have to get back to the kids."

He rolled over and and grabbed my hand as I tried to frantically get out of bed. "They are fine Britt, I called mom last night, she took them back to her house."

He pulled me back down to him on the bed and kissed my forehead. "You were asleep and I didn't want to wake you up."

"Thanks." I sighed. "Sorry for freaking out."
