Chapter 4.

Megan's POV
Today was graduation day. I can finally get my diploma and try to up lift my dream of rapping. I was never the best in school so my dad made me put it to the side so I could focus. Never the less we getting this diploma today.

I was up early for the graduation rehearsal.
"Dad make sure you're there today okay? Your tickets on the counter." I spoke to my dad before I left

"I will be there," he mumbled into his pillow

"Please don't be late, it starts at 5," I reminded him

"Okay okay," he turned over on his bed.

I made my way out of the house and rested the ticket on the counter. Once I was in the building where our graduation would take place we did a few run throughs, where we're supposed to sit, how we're supposed process in, who's going to be doing their speeches you know things like that.

After the run through was over I had to get my hair done. I showered before I left I didn't have to worry about that. I picked out a cute 1 piece outfit that I'd wear under my gown.

"Y'all ready?" I FaceTimed Rome and Kehlani while I was getting my hair done. We were all so excited, Rome was getting his fade while Lani was getting her nails done.

"This the big day!" Lani cheesed real hard

"This shit is crazy," Rome exhaled, "after graduation everybody's gon go home with their families then come back around 10 for this party, y'all down?"

"Where at?" I asked while adjusting my head

"One of my guys from the football team gon throw it, he got a nice ass backyard it's gon be like a bonfire type and there's a pool,"

"I'm not fucking my hair up Rome," I protested

"Meg youn gotta get in, who's all going?" Lani asked

"Mad heads but we can invite the rest of the crew," Rome offered

"Here I'll add em," Lani added Keith, Ryan, Solana and Normani to the FaceTime

"Awe y'all look so goood," Solana answered first and had her big smile in the camera

The rest of them joined simultaneously.

Normani was laying down with her hand holding her head up with her bonnet on, Keith was washing his face he had his durag on and Ryan was sitting up with her bonnet on as well. My people was lookin good too.

"Aye y'all fly or whatevaaaa," Keith clicked his tongue and we all laughed

"The ceremony's at 5 right?" Normanis soft tone joined in, her voice was like a sweet tone for real. Whenever she spoke we all quieted down just to hear her.

"Yes mama you gotta make sure you on time," Lani jumped in , which made me twist my face a little. I didn't like that but I knew she was just being friendly.

"Yall I'm so tired," Ryan had some rasp in her voice and her lips and nose were still swole.

"Baby get some sleep but ima come by by 4:30 so we can be on time," Keith spoke to Ryan

"Hollon I added yall because there's a party tonight and it starts around midnight," Rome began to speak, "They say no underclassmen but I was gon put y'all on," he smiled real big cause he was clowning.

"So what I'm hearing is you want us to go to the party?" Solanas voice came out of the dead

"Yes we invitin yall, I'll send the addy yall all better slide through,"

It was around 4:45 when I left my house, my dad wasn't home. But I hope that he'd come through just for this one night.

I went to the building where it'd be taking place and waiting backstage so we could process in. I saw Lani and Rome , they looked so good. This was our time. Jatavia was there too, I walked over to tell her congratulations but nothing more from there.
