Chapter 24.

Megan's POV

I finished up my last tables and clocked out in the back.

Walking outside to my car I got in and returned home. Lauren and my dad were there. My dads been better and he wasn't drinking.

I washed my hands in the sink and proceeded to my room.

"Megan, please come in here," I've been lowkey avoiding my dad and I haven't spoken another word to Lauren.

"I have to go take a shower so I can leave," I told him before attempting to walk into the hall.

"Young lady, I'm not gon ask you again. Get yo ass in here," he raised his voice.

I sighed.

"Wha- yes?" I quickly corrected myself

"I said get in here. Do I have to clean your ears out?"

"No sir," I walked into the living room and sat on the couch.

"You're going to tell me and Lauren why you were prostituting,"

I almost laughed. Humorous.

"I don't owe Lauren anything, if I'm going to tell anyone I'll tell you and mom when I'm ready. And I'm not,"

I know my dad is happy with Lauren. So I won't expose her, even though I shouldn't have any mercy, I honestly don't but I care for my dad.

"Fair,"

"Can I leave now?"

"Where are you going?"

"To Rome's,"

"Why?"

"Cause I wanna see mom,"

"How can you talk to your mom and not me? I've been here , your whole life Megan. And you still more open with her,"

"When she left it's like you left too. You were still here but you weren't, you were barely in your right mind. You stopped coming to games , you were drunk as hell at my graduation dad. If you think she's bad then you're worse. At least I didn't have to watch her be absent, she was out of sight out of mind  but you, you just never paid attention," I exhaled. "Can I leave?"

He stood in front of me. He didn't respond. This is the first time my dad ain't have nothing to say.

Lauren sat on the couch far from me.

I stood up. "At least she's trying to fix it, you just act like nothing happen,"

I went into my room and picked out the clothes I'd wear for the day. I had an early shift today so it was 3.

I took a shower and decided to pack a small bag too.

As I finished up in my room Lauren came to my door.

"Hey," I didn't even look up at her.

"I just want to talk," she added

"Do you remember what happened last time we talked? Like an hour later you ruined my life," I reminded her.

"I'm so sorry Megan, I didn't mean-"

"It's fine," I took my phone from the charger and Caresha was still blowing me up from the other day. I honestly have no energy for her right now I just want my baby.

I won't be selfish and keep her to myself today because I know she's been spending more time with her mom and gma. Plus she's gonna have to focus on school since we only have so much time before school starts for her.
