Chapter 21.

Megan's POV

"Can we talk later?" I asked. I need to buy myself some more time, and I need to talk to Normani which I haven't had the chance to get around to.

"No Megan. I'm not fucking playing with you ight?"
There we go. That's the Lauren I know.

Normani sat up.
"Is everything okay?" She turned to me and asked me.

I nodded.
"I'll explain everything later," I whispered into her ear.

"Normani come here real quick," Regina called for Normani anyways.

She looked back at me for reassurance and I nodded my head. She looked Lauren over. My nice ass girl friend is out here mean mugging bitches now, I think it's cute.

She went over to Regina, Dawn and Ryan.

The way she was bonding with her mom for real is all I could've asked for.

"Why are you here?" I gritted.

"How fucking old are you Megan?"

"18,"

"You was Fif- fucking - teen?!" She raised her voice at me. "What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"We needed money and the man that I guess you fixed isn't the same man as he was when my mom left. I don't have to explain shit anyways Lauren," I stood up, or tried to stand up from my seat. Lauren pushed me back down.

"Aye you good Meg?" I heard Bruno walk back over.

"Yeah, yeah I'm good," I lied fixing myself in the chair. I can't even afford to make a scene right now there's way too much family here.

"Don't even act like you all good Lauren. Or that you'd do any different than what you did. Whenever T.I said jump you asked him how high," i mugged her

"I would've never if I knew yo real age," she gritted.

"You let me get raped how many times Lauren? Some were consensual but most weren't and you knew that," I could feel my throat start to burn.

All these memories I did everything to bury and now I can't. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

"I don't want to have this conversation anymore Lauren," I closed my eyes , holding my tears back.

"I'm sorry Megan. He's not apart of my life anymore. I studied and I got my license to be a therapist to help people anyone really. And I met your dad..."

"You can be with him Lauren, but I'm not treating you like a mother never mind a step mother,"

"Okay, we'll get there soon," she exhaled

"We won't. And I don't want my dad knowing any of that, especially not about me,"

I looked over to my dad. He was talking to Albert and Keith Sr. He looked happy. They had drinks in their hands but he had some water.

Maybe she really was doing her job.

I looked to my mom and she had joined Regina, Mani , Dawn and Ryan. It seems Nippy, Brandy and Solana did too.

Honestly she fits right into my life. I've never not needed her.

Kehlani and Quincy we're making their way over to the crowd.

"I won't say anything," Lauren agreed.

"We can be cordial," I said.

"Hey Meg, we need you over here," Rome grabbed my arm taking me from Lauren.
