Normani's POV

"Yesss Prince just come in one beat later and you have it down, don't rush. Your body catches the flow so let it," I was critiquing Princeton's moves and quite frankly everyone's.

We had come together to create most part of a choreography that we'll perform soon at an October show down for the school.

It's at the end of the month so we still have time to perfect everything.

"Like this?" Princeton moved a beat back, which is all he needed to get this step down

"Yesss,"

"Normani Trevor and Paige aren't here again are you sure they're still on the team?" Coach Ciara came to speak to me

"I haven't heard from either one of them,"

"Without them I'm not sure we'll be able to dance,"

"I heard they got they ass beat," Quincy laughed

"Language!" Coach said

"My bad my bad," he put his hands up in defense

"I hear it was just Paige, somebody beat her ass pretty bad," Teyana chimed in while tying her shoes

"Who she got into a fight with,"

"Tall girl, brown skin," Usher was explaining

God I shouldn't have said anything she did some dumb shit didn't she.

"Alright that's a wrap on todays practice yall, try to find some friends only 2 spots to fill!" Coach was talking and I ran over to my phone.

"You okay?" I heard Sean's voice

"Yeah, yeah I'm great,"

"It seems like you was freaking out over Paige getting beat up,"

"Yeah just other reasons," I brushed him off

"I'll look for two more people," he changed the subject

"Thank you I appreciate it truly," I smiled some

I started walking to my car and called Megan twice.

She sent me to voicemail.

I went on Instagram and saw that she was at the studio with some girls. Including that one girl that was flirting with her the other night. I'm not too fond of it but I know that's the business.

I should cuss her out for ignoring my calls right now honestly.

I started on my way home, making it home Ryan was already over with my mom and gma.

"Hiii," I spoke as I made it through the door

"Hi sweetie how was school," my mom greeted me at the door with a hug.

"It was pretty good, practice was good too. You guys are coming to my competition at the end of this month right?" I smiled while washing my hands

"Of course, we will be there,"

"Did you guys already eat? I can make something," I opened the fridge

"I was about to prepare something , you wanna help me?" My mom asked

"Me and gma gon chill over here you know we can't cook," Ryan laughed

"Hollon now you can't cook! I can throw down alright," we laughed my grandma as she was shuffling her deck of cards

"You seemed stressed these past couple weeks you wanna talk about it?" My mom asked as she started cleaning chicken that she had unthawing from earlier

"Well I'm okay now, it's just this thing happened with this girl at my school,"

"Paige?" Ryan asked "she's the reason you've been so off? I heard somebody really rocked her sh-"

"Who's Paige?" My gma asked

"This girl who really likes Mani," Ryan answered

"She probably hates me now," I shrugged

"So what was she doing?" My mom asked as I prepared a salad.

"Her and her friends were making fun of me for some times, but it's fine,"

"What were they saying?" Ryan asked

"Nothing guys it's fineee," I tried to brush it off, I took a seat at the table waiting for my mom to finish cleaning the chicken so I could season it

"Was it about your skin Normani?" Ryan asked me, looking at me forcing me to make eye contact with her

"Normani," she repeated "why did you tell me?"

"Because it's not important Ry,"

"You should've told me, I could've helped you know that I-"

"It's okay," I held her hands as her eyes began to swell with water

"You're beautiful Mani , we're beautiful and you know that," she gave me a hug, held me in her arms for a long time. She's definitely making my water works take place.

"I think Megan was the one who fucked her up but she's not answering her phone," I whispered

"Yeah she probably did," Ryan laughed some

"I love you," I spoke still in Ryan's arms. She's always been like an older sister to me , even though we're only a few months apart.

"I love you too, you let me know everything thats going on okay?"

"I will okay stop, I'm going to cry even more," we laughed and I sniffled some.

Also I might end this story soon, and make a sequel. Or I might continue and make this one long asl regardless I love this story so I'm not abandoning it evaaaa
