Another Saturday shift. And at night. It really sucks but I like to keep myself busy and make some money. Besides, this job isn't too hard anyhow.

"Well look who we have here! Hello brother. Hey Sandy, you look absolutely fabulous." I said as my brother and his girlfriend Sandy walk up to my counter.

"Hey Y/n." Soda said, bitterly. "Well you don't seem too jolly to see ya sister." I said. "Just give us two tickets to the new movie airing, will ya?" He said without a single glance towards me.

"Jesus, no need to act so cold." I said. "Soda, it's your kid sister. You don't need to be so bitter" Said his girlfriend, Sandy.

"Yeah, listen to your girl Soda." I said, smiling. He rolls his eyes then slams a couple bucks on the table as I give them their tickets.

"Enjoy the movie you two." I said. They then went in the movie house.

My two kid brothers, Sodapop and Ponyboy, hate when they're going out to the movie house with someone and it's my shift. But, their someone always wants to see a movie so, what can I do, eh?

"Hey Dan, can you get me a slushee and chips nextdoor, please?" I asked my coworker at the movie house, Dan. He pulled out his hand expecting some cash so gave him some. "Get something for yourself with that too. But don't you dare use my money to get those disgusting cancer sticks you oughta quit don't by now." I said. He nodded and walked away with a grin.

Even though I hated night shifts, they do get me more tips since most folks like to watch the pictures late at night. Especially couples.

After a more cute, lovely couple came by for the new James Dean film, I saw Ponyboy.

"Well hi there kid. Sodapops in there too with Sandy if ya didn't know. Oh but don't bother him, I think he's in a mood." I said then looked next to him. "Oh, I see you're on a date! Hi, I'm Y/n. Ponyboys sister." I said to the girl next to him. "Just give us the tickets, Y/n." Pony said as he hands me the money. "I guess you're in a mood too then. Well here, enjoy your watch cuties!" I said as they got inside. "I guess they're embarrassed again." I said to myself.

"I'm home!" I said as I entered the house. "Hey Y/n, go get changed. We're about to have dinner." Said Darry. I nodded and headed to the shower. I got into something more comfortable and sat down at the dinner table.

"You warmed up that leftover chicken right, Dare?" I asked my older brother, Darry. "Yeah and he neighbors were nice enough to give us some cake too. Thank God." he said as he's setting up the table.

"Oh, right! I forgot their kid had a birthday! We should get something for him." I told Darry. He gave a confused look as he sets down plates.

"Why should we? It's just a kid, I don't know what the hell I should get a kid." He muttered. "Did you forget I used to babysit him? You know what? I'll just get him something, you forget about it." I said, feeling a bit pissed off.

"Yeah alright I'll pitch in but you give it to him, alright? I don't think that boy remembers me." said Darry. "Hey Y/n, can you get the chicken out the oven, please?"

I got up to get the chicken out the oven and as I set it down on the table, Darry calls for Soda and Pony to come by the table to start dinner and with their hungry faces, they rushed to their seats and prepared to pray.

"Alright, let's say grace. Y/n, can you lead for us please?" Darry asked. I held Pony and Soda's hands as I say, "Sure thing." and began to say grace.

We started to eat and have small talk, just the casual conversations siblings would have with each other.

"So how was your day?" Darry asked me. I sat up straight with light in my eyes because I had just remembered about my day.

"Oh, how was my day? Boy, I oughta tell you. I had one interesting day today." I said with a grin and eyeing Ponyboy and Sodapop down while they scarf down their food. "Well, what is it?" Asked Darry.

"Just this lovely evening, Soda and Pony came by the movies." I said. Darry shot a confused look at me and the boys. "Okay, they do that all the time. What's so different this time?" he asked.

"Well, apparently because they were with their beautiful lovely ladies, I was embarrassing them by working my butt off at the movie house."

"Really? Is that what that is now? C'mon boys. your sister is doing a lotta good for this house by working there, especially at night." Darry asked the two boys. They stood silent as they ate slightly slower. I chuckled, "It's alright Dare, you don't gotta give em that 'older brother' talk."

"I think next time I'll just play in the movie, then you really can't get enough of me!" I said making myself and Darry laugh.

"Shut up, Y/n." Said Soda. Darry and I just could not stop laughing and that made our brothers real mad.
