"Y/n? Your friends are here!" My mom shouts from the house. I was preparing the barbeque at my backyard. I turn to her and close my magazine. "Bring them here!" I replied. The back door opens and I see Steve and the guys.

I walk up to them. "Welcome to my backyard guys." I said. "Wow, this is a really nice backyard. Very big." Said Steve. He comes up to me and kisses me, his hand on my hip. In his other hand, he was holding chocolate cake.

"Oh nice, you brought cake!" I said, taking it from his hand. "I ate some." He said. "It's okay. Cmon guys, sit down." I lead them to the table. They all sat down and we're already sort of messing around. "You guys stay here, I'm gonna go grab some cokes from the fridge." I said.

Everyone was already all over the place. Ponyboy and Johnny was already playing with my dog, Dallas is trying to bond with my very moody cat, Sodapop and Two-Bit are arm wrestling each other, Steve was the referee or something. Me and Darry just spoke as if we were the adults in the room.

"What major are you taking?" Darry asks. "Cinema studies. Been wanting to learn more about cinematography my whole life. My father told me all about movies and how they were made." I said. "Have you checked if the university has the major?" "Yeah I have, and they do. You do not understand how happy I was." I said. Then, Steve rolls into the conversation.

"Hello! I'm tired of keeping watch of Soda and Two. It's always a tie." Steve said. "Hey, we were just umm... Talking about economics." I said, giving Darry a look to just go along with it. He nods, understanding the situation. "Oh god, my enemy. That thing has an entire history too." Said Steve.

"Well I'll leave you two tall about that. I'm gonna go show Dally how to really pet a cat." He said then leaves. "Y/n, why didn't you just tell him we were talking about college?" Darry asked. "Because, Steve hates it when I talk about it to pretty much anyone. He hates the fact of me leaving town." I said. "I think he's just scared to lose ya. He loves you very much, you know that right?" Said Darry. "He can't stop blabbering about you, he's always super excited to see you." And with that, I blushed and smiled.

"I think you should just confront him about you going to college. Just tell him that obviously you'll be visiting once you're on holiday." He said. That made me think about it. I sighed and glanced at Steve.

"Yeah I think I should." I murmured.

"Steve can I ask you something?" I said. "Anything." He replied. "Don't be mad, please?" "I won't."

"Steve, you know I will be going to university right?" I spat out. His face lit down as I looks at mine. "Yeah." He said, looking away. "Steve, you can't stay mad at the fact of me leaving. You know I will visit? It's not like I'm going to leave you forever." I said.

"Look, when I am. I will write to you many letters. So many, it piles up in one day." I said as he breathes out a laugh. "I'll try to call you every night I can. And obviously in the holiday, I'd come and visit." He smiles and looks at me.

"I'll write back to you too." He said. I smile and give him a kiss.

"Also, please take care of my mom. And my dog and cat when I'm gone." I said. "Of course I will." "Is Dallas still trying to talk to my cat?" "I think he is talking to the cat." Said Steve.
