Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Lot.
Saturday, 1967.
11:07 p.m.•••
"Yes, this is she."
"This is the Police Station. We have your significant other, Ponyboy Curtis in the--" "Ugh! I'll be right there!" I hung up the phone, grabbed my jacket, and drove to the police station.
I got to the counter.
"Nice to see you again, Miss Y/l/n." Said Officer Smith. I knew almost all of the cops' names because of Ponyboy.
"What'd he do this time?" I asked as I payed him the money to bail Ponyboy. "Just armed robbery." "Where in hell does he get guns?" I said.
I waited for Ponyboy and he came through the door. Officer Buck uncuffed him, "I'm already tired of seeing you here all the time." He said. "I'm already tired seeing your face." Said Ponyboy.
I rushed to him and dragged him out.
"Thank you officers!" I said to the officers.
I dragged him outside and to our car.
"What the fuck, Ponyboy?" I shouted. "I am sick and tired of you like this, what happened to the shy, innocent little Ponyboy Curtis I met 3 years ago?" I said.
"Well no one stays a little innocent kid! I ain't no kid no more, Y/n!" He shouted.
"Yes you are! You know what kids do? They steal! Whatever the fuck they want!" I said. "Why do you care? It's not like you're my mother!" He said.
And with those words, my heart shattered.
"You're right. I am not your mother. But surely if she was here, she'd look at you with disgust and disappointment." I said.
"You're walking home." I said, and got in my car and drove back home.
Ponyboy has been acting so much more like Dally than he used to. At first, he just started to curse, and then he started to smoke more often and he started to steal and now he's been in jail for so many times, I can't even count it anymore.

"Hey, is Pony at there?" I phoned the Curtis' house.
"No, I thought he'd be with you." Said Darry from the other line. "Well, we had a fight." "Ah, okay. Try calling Two-Bit or Steve. Maybe they know." He said.
"Okay, bye." I said then hung up.
I called Steve and Two-Bits' house and he isn't there either.
I start to worry, wondering where he might be. I then drove out in the evening to look for him.
I checked the lot, not there. I checked the drive in, not there. I checked movie box, not there.
And then it came to me...
"It's on a hill." He said.
"Your hiding spot is on a hill?" I laughed.
"Well, first of it is pretty secret but I'd tell you. Second, it has the best view of the sunset." He said.
"Hmm, I guess that does sound nice."
"Right? It's a bit far, slightly out of town but it's nice and quiet. It's at the further south side of town. There's a garden of flowers below it too. Well, actually you can clearly see it but no one seems to hang out there." He explained.
The hill he told me about on one of our dates.
He could possibly be there.
I drove to look for the hill and eventually I found a felild of flowers and there was, a hill.
In the distance, I saw a silhouette. I ran up to it and it was Ponyboy.
He was watching the sunset, and he was right.
It's the best view of it.
I immediately hugged him and he hugged me back. We hugged for a while and let go.
"I knew you'd look for me." He said.
"Of course I did, dipshit. I was worried sick! How would you feel if I didn't come home and it was late?" I said. "Okay, okay!"
"I'm- I'm really, truly sorry, Y/n. You're right, my mother would despise me if she saw me and who I am." He said.
"Hey Pony, I've met your mother before and she is the nicest woman I've ever met. And I could tell that even if she were to still be here, and she see's you, she'll still love you no matter what."
"Just like how I do." I said.
He smiles. He wraps his arms around my waist and hugs me, crying on my shoulder.
I hug him back and brushed his hair.
"I'm sorry too, but I need you to limit these actions Pony." I said.
"Done and done." He said.
