"Ooh, Johnny fancies someone..." Dallas said.

I shook out of my zone. He noticed me staring at Y/n Y/l/n. Tulsa's Sweetheart. The nicest, sweetest, most popular and the most gorgeous girl in town.

"Shut up." I gritted my teeth, covering my red face from blushing. Dallas laughed as the rest of the guys turned their heads to us.

"Oh Y/n? Who wouldn't like her?" Said Soda, taking a sip of his Coke, looking at her.

"C'mon Johnnycakes, there's no need to get embarrassed. Y/n's a cool girl and everyone likes her." Said Dallas. "That's the thing. Everyone likes her. She's got a line of guys and there is no chance of her choosing me." I said. "Hey, you never know. Maybe, you should talk to her."

"What? No!" I said. "Oh, a small chat wouldn't hurt. There she's looking." Dallas waved at her and I immediately pushed his hand down. I look at her and she was waving back.

"Oh relax Johnny, it's not the end of the world. She's coming here right now." He said. I look back again and see her walking in her white swimsuit that looks absolutely fabulous on her.

"Hey guys!" She said with a bright smile on her face. "Hey Y/n! What brings you out to the lake at this time of day?" Said Dallas. "Oh just wanted to have fun of course. And you?" She asked. "Same as you. Hey, I'm pretty sure you've met Johnny. Johnny Cade." Said Dallas.

"Yeah I know you, we're in the same Spanish class." She said. I looked at her and gave her a small smile. "Yeah." "Hey, you want a drink? We've got a few cokes, I'll go get some." "Oh sure." She said. "You talk to Johnny while I get the beverages." Dallas grinned. I gave him a look as he held his laugh. He was obviously doing that on purpose.

Y/n sat next to me on Dallas' chair. "So you go here often?" She asked. "Well, I only go here with my guys. Usually a few times a year." I said, trying to stay cool. "You?" "Oh umm, I just go here when I feel like it. Which is, pretty often actually." She said

"You came here alone or same as me? With your friends?" I said, still quite nervous. "Oh I came here with my family and a friend." She said, her eyes wandering everywhere.

"Ohh okay." Then the small silence. I really wanted to ask her out but I'm too nervous. But I will regret it later. Agh, what should I do?

"So umm--" "Would you like to go out with me?" I spat. She jumped a little and chuckled. I cover my mouth. "Sorry, I didn't mean to... Scare you." I said. "No no, it's okay." She said.

"Sure, I'll go out with you. If... You can impress me." She said. "Okay, what do you want me to do?" "Anything. Maybe you have a secret talent that's interesting, or just something you can do that's cool." She said. "And why do you need to be impressed?"

"I do that to every guy who asks me out. Barely any of them pass this test." She said. "Maybe I'll be a lucky guy today." I said. "Maybe you will, maybe you won't." She grinned.

"Okay. I'm good at poker? You wanna compete against me? I bet you'll lose." I said. "Okay, you got a deck of cards?" She asked. I pulled out a deck from my pocket and we started to play.

"And lost again." I said. "Hmm okay. You've really impressed me. You passed." She said. "Really? Yes!" I said. She laughed and pulled her hand out. "Meet me after school at the park tomorrow." She said. I shook her hand.

"I'll be there." I replied with a smile.
