"I could never miss any of your parties."
"Awe that's adorable. It's literally only you, me, Steve and Sydney. You can't miss any of my parties nor theirs, dipshit." I said. "Now come on."
I let him inside. A party with many people is already chaos. But, a party with just the four of us is beyond chaos.
"Sodapop!" A slightly drunk Sydney said as she hugged him. "You are such a nice man, you know that?" She said. "Yeah I know."
"Right, Steve's over there." I pointed to him. "Why is he talking to you 8 year old sister?" Soda asked. "My sister may be younger than me, but she's good with psychological problems and is pretty much smarter than me. She's pretty much my personal therapist." I said.
"I'm shocked." He said.
"Okay, we haven't made a new drink we like this month so let's get to it." I said.
Every month, we make a new drink. We mix up anything we think would taste good and obviously we get to name it literally anything.
•••
"That is delicious!" I said right after I took a sip of the new drink we made.
"I agree, I agree, I agree." Said Sydney. "Please, this is probably our best one yet!" Said Steve.
"Sodapop! C'mon, try it man!" I said. "No I'm good." He said.
We all look at him, shocked but immediately knowing what's going on.
I gasp. "Did you see Sandy with another guy?" I asked. "What no--"
"Is it Darry again? You know, you gotta stand up for yourself, Pepsi." Said Sydney, who was obviously drunk.
"C'mon, what's wrong man?" Said Steve. "Nothing!" He said and I scoffed.
"Yeah right. C'mon tell us." I said.
He sighed and looks at me. "Can I just talk to you in private please?" He said. I look at the others and they nodded. They knew me and Soda were always closer than ever.
We went outside to talk.
"What's up?" I asked. And all of a sudden, he broke down in tears. "Awe, it's okay! It's alright." I said bringing him into my arms.
He hugs my waist, resting his head on my chest and I wrap my arms around his neck.
"Everything's fine, it'll be okay. It'll go away." I said, trying to calm him down, and so he did.
"Do you want to tell me what's up or?" I asked. He sniffles, wiping his tears.
He tells me all about what happen as I try to comfort him.
"Look, not everything will go uphill. Even if your downhill, you can still keep going down. But, that is if you give up." I advised him.
He smiled and hugged me again.
"I love you." He said. "I love you too, Peps."
