• Dallas' POV •

"Wow Dallas, ya don't look so tired after taking care of Charlie. You look better." Said Darry as I walk in the Curtis' house with my son, Charlie.

"Hey man, you won't believe it. He asked for me this mornin'. He wanted me this morning, he didn't ask for his mom." I said.

Usually, Charlie asks for his mom, which is my fiancee, Y/n. Just this morning, he wasn't looking for his mother. He just wanted me.

"Oh wow, that's amazing. I think he's starting to get more comfortable with you." Said Darry.

I sat down on the couch and put Charlie on my lap as we watch Mickey Mouse on tv. He was laughing and everything.

"Where's Ponyboy and Sodapop?" I asked.

"Still asleep." Said Darry as he cleans up the kitchen.

"At this time? Jesus." I said, making Darry laugh.

"What's so funny?" I ask. "Nah, you usually wake up later than them before you had Charlie." He said.

"Very funny." I said. Then Pony and Sodas bedroom door opened. "What's with the laughing guys?" Pony said coming out of the room, wiping his eyes.

"It's just Charlie. He's watching Mickey." I said. "Hey, he's got that snotty laugh like Y/n!" Said Pony. He walks up to Charlie and gives him a little handshake.

"You and Y/n made a gorgeous baby." He said. "Hell yeah we did." I said.

I was in Bucks car after getting some food at the DQ with Charlie. We went to the lot and looked at the stars from my car.

"Charlie look up." I said to him as I pointed to the sky. He looks up with a fascinated look on his face. He's just about to turn 2 and was starting to speak. Just Dada and Mama.

"Yeah, those are stars. Pretty right?" I said, looking up too. "Your mama and I used to love looking at the stars every night." I said.

Y/n passed away about a year after Charlie was born. It was all my fault. I was stupid. I robbed some store after Johnny died. Almost got shot by the cops but Y/n took that bullet for me. She died right there on the road, in my arms.

Her last words were, "Take care of Charlie, please." I was always scared that I couldn't do it alone and I would mess up but Y/n encouraged me and taught me well.

"You're mama is not completely with us but she is. Right here." I said as I pointed to his heart. "She'll always be there, because we love her and I'm sure she loves us." I said. Charlie replies by pointing at my chest, and saying. "Mama."

"Yeah. Yeah that's right. Mama. She's safer now, Charlie." I said. There was a small silence until Charlie almost fell asleep.

"I think we should get home now, I'm tired too." I said, yawning.
