"It's tonight." I said as I barged into the Curtis' house.

Right as I walked in, I saw the whole gang together. Even Two-Bit was there. Which he rarely is.

"What?" Said Darry. "We're gonna fight the Socs at 9. Get ready. No weapons. Curly said tonight. He just talked to em' this mornin'" I said.

"C'mon y'all, we gotta move!" as I was about to leave, Dallas stopped me. "What do you mean, Y/n?" He asked, grabbing my arm.

"Look, Curly just told me to call you guys and get to the park. He said we're goin' with his boys too." I said.

"Why didn't you tell us?" Dally asked. "Hello? This is me telling you right now! Now, do you wanna get wrecked? Get a move on!" I said.

"Alright, let's go!" Steve yells, getting up from the couch as Soda and Two-Bit do the same.

"Why do they wanna fight? What did Curly say?" Dallas kept asking. "He said som Soc told him one of you guys were messing with his girl or something? I don't know man, you're askin' me too many questions, man." I said.

"God that punk is just a bitch. Let's get this fucker!" Dallas says, gritting his teeth as he was about to walk out the door. "Hey, hey! Hold on!" Darry suddenly shouts, making everyone lower their tone. He walks up to me.

"Look, we ain't had a rumble in a while and so far there's not as many Socs than us. Tim's got a lot of boys so I think we should tone it down a little, alright?" Darry advised. It brought the mood down for some of us. Including me but I understood what he meant.

"Alright I hear ya. Pony and Johnny should stay put. The rest of us are gonna go." I said, as I get my jacket on which Darry stops me from doing.

"Ah I think you should sit this one out, Y/n. Dally too." Darry faces Dally. Dally shots aj irritated look at Darry. "What? Why me? You need me!" Dally argues.

"Now, you just got out the slammer. I don't want you doin' somehin' dumb that's gone send you back there. I'm helping you out here buddy." says Darry. Then he turns to look at me. "And you have a better reputation in this town than the rest of us. So, you should keep it that way. So, you stay here with Ponyboy and Johnny, alright? Keep and eye on Dally too."

After some thought, I agreed to stay which made Darry let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thank you. Everyone else, let's go. We don't wanna be late." He said as everyone shuffles through the house and gets ready for the fight.

While getting ready, I could still see Dallas trying to convince Darry to let him go. Honestly, Dallas is already one hell of a criminal himself and is the type of person to disobey orders. But from Darry? Seems like he wouldn't dare to even try.

"Dallas, my decision is final, alright? You stay here with Y/n and the boys. I can't let you get involved with the cops again, alright?" Darry said as he puts on his belt. Dallas grunts as he finally gives up.

"Fine." Said Dallas as he flops on the sofa with his arms crossed, frowning too. I couldn't help but laugh a little, seeing him so upset like a little kid.

"Alright, Y/n you keep these boys outta trouble alright? We'll try to be back before midnight. Sleep if y'all want, okay?" Says Darry as he walks out the door. I stand near the doorway as I waited for each of them to go out the door.
