"You will come back, right?" I said.

"Of course I will, Sugar. I'll come back for you." He said.

We stood by the platform, waiting for the train to Oklahoma City that my promised boyfriend, Dallas Winston, will be taking.

He's been a really good friend of mine since childhood. We've spent most of our lives together here in New York. When we met we were just kids and we were neighbors. Since Dallas had trouble back home, my parents and I would sometimes have him spend the night at our house so he wouldn't have to go through that.

Still, it had gotten to him and he became a hoodlum. Getting into trouble with the neighbors, hanging out with the wrong crowd. I tried to stop him and at one point, he wouldn't talk to me because I wasn't like him. I was always in school, had straight A's. He though I was lame. Until we both grew up and I was becoming a woman.

But now, were closer than ever. Spend our days and nights often together and that got him out of trouble for some time. I was really happy being around him that I started to have feelings for him. Funny enough, he had felt the same.

Unfortunately, we confessed our feelings to each other too late. That same week we spoke to each other about our feelings, Dallas had to move away to his dad's hometown. Oklahoma.

As devastating as it was, he told me he would make me his girlfriend when we saw each other again.

"Do you really have to leave?" I asked.

"I have to, Y/n. My old man can't afford to live here no more." He said.

"I can help you out! Your old man can go to Oklahoma and you can stay at our house here in New York!"

"No Y/n, you brother wouldn't be happy if I stayed there and I couldn't so that to your parents." He said.

He looked at me with soft eyes and held my cheek.

"Look, don't worry too much about me okay?  I'll be fine, Y/n. And I promise to make you mine when we see each other again."

I hugged him, tight. "Please don't ever forget about me." I said.

"I won't. I'll miss you too." We then heard the train come.

"Dallas, let's go." Said Mr. Winston.

I watched him walk inside the train with his bags. He stood by the window, looking at me before the train left. I waved and he waved back. The train then moved and took off.

I hope that boy doesn't get in too much trouble.

• THREE YEARS LATER •

It's been 3 years since I last saw Dallas. He hasn't visited me either and it's got me really worried. Knowing him, he would get into some deep trouble that could just get him killed.

Since I had just graduated high school, I thought it would be a good idea to go find him in Oklahoma. Also an opportunity to go visit some relatives over in Tulsa.
