"What are you talking about?" agap ko at inalis sa likod ng kaliwang tenga ang buhok na naka-ipit doon.

Demetrio pursed his lips and looked straight into my eyes. "I just saw your second lobe piercing. This time, hindi ako namamalikmata.  really saw it."

I raised my left eyebrow. "Where's your proof?"

"It's right there." He pointed out my left ear. "I'll just call Tobias to prove it. Ayaw mong ibigay at aminin kaya wala na akong magagawa. Better ready yourself, Ms. Defensor."

"If I'll give it to you, you should also admit what you did with Lucia's money?" hamon ko rito.

I wouldn't accept it if it's just me who will admit what I did. Dapat ay siya rin! Ano 'to? Ako ang talo?!

Lumapit ang mukha ni Demetrio sa akin. Galit na galit ang mukha nito. Nawala bigla ang maamo at parang inosente nitong mukha. I can feel my heart pounded thrice the times it usually does. My hands also felt cold and watery at the moment.

"Why would I pledge guilty to the crime I didn't commit, Ms. Defensor?"

Natigilan ako sa tanong niya. Umawang ang labi ko pero agad ko itong tinikom. Hindi ko hahayaan na makita niya ang gulat sa mukha ko!

"So you wouldn't admit it? Then okay. Hindi ako mahirap na kausap, Mr. Guadarrama."

Hinarap ko ang babae na nasa cashier na merong gulat sa mukha nito. Pabaling-baling niya kaming tiningnan ni Demetrio. I rolled my eyes because of what happened.

Padarag na kinuha ko ang order ko na nasa tray at agad na pumunta sa lamesa namin. Nilagpasan ko lang si Tobias at Uella na naghihintay sa akin sa gilid. They seem shocked also. I wonder if they heard me and Demetrio.

"What is that, Eanne?" sunod na tanong sa akin ni Tobias nang maupo sa upuan ko, gayon din siya at si Uella.

I just glanced at him. Sinimulan ko ang pagkain. He sighed heavily.

"What's with the hard face, baby T?"

I hurriedly looked up and saw Ate Bella. My face instantly lit up. She smiled at me when her eyes met mine. Bumaling ito kay Toby at lumapit. She spanked Toby's head as a result of Toby's much darker and evident frown.

"Ay nagalit si T!" mapaglarong sambit ni Ate Bella. She even covered her mouth and acted like a shock girl.

Natawa si Sora at hinila ang bakanteng upuan na nasa tabi niya. "Dito ka, Ate Bella. Kakain ka po ba?"

She raised her hand for a pause. Humarap ito kay Toby. "Ano'ng problema mo?" she worriedly asked, her voice was back to normal: soothing and calm.

Tobias' eyes never leave mine. Hindi ko alam bakit kapag si Demetrio ang pinag-uusapan ay todong-todo ang galit nito. Para bang pusa niya si Demetrio at isang ngawa mula sa kanya ay nagagalit na agad si Toby.

"What did you do to him, Eanne?" he asked again, hindi pinansin si Ate Bella.

Ate Bella dramatically put his right hand on her chest and shockingly looked at Tobias. Na para bang hindianay na nabastos ng anak.

"I didn't do anything wrong, Toby," I reported.

But Toby, who didn't have confidence in me, raised his brow. "What did you do, Eanne?" he demanded.

The whole table went silent. The clang of silverwares suspended in the air. I just looked away and began eating my food.

Ayaw ko nga sabihin sa kanya. Bakit ba niya ako pinipilit? Does he have any sort of special relationship to that guy?
