English class was starting to feel more like a game of sneaking kisses.
Hoseok and Yoongi sat in their usual spots at the back of the classroom, jotting down notes into their journals as Mr. Baek continued his lecture. Only this time, they weren't trying to sit as far apart as humanly possible, and Hoseok didn't feel like every movement he made was lethal.
Instead, the two had their pinkies interlocked underneath the table, and they were probably sitting a lot closer than they should have been. It was as if they'd been replaced by two completely different people, ones who could not only stand to be around each other, but needed to be around each other.
And now, Mr. Baek's back was turned to the class again, which meant it was the perfect time to try and steal another kiss from his boyfriend.
Hoseok poked Yoongi on the shoulder, offering him one of his mischievous grins. Carefully, Yoongi took one last glance at their teacher, making sure the coast was absolutely clear. When the timing was just right, the two of them leaned in, taking their chances and lightly kissing each other's lips.
Even if it was just for a few short seconds, it was enough to drive him crazy. And just like always, Yoongi began giggling way too much as they pulled apart.
"Yoongi," Hoseok put a finger over his nose, signaling him to keep quiet. Although, the flustered smile he'd been wearing was just as big, if not bigger. Every kiss they'd managed to sneak behind their teacher's back somehow felt like the greatest accomplishment, and it left Hoseok feeling eager to kiss Yoongi properly when class was finally over.
Just then, Yoongi reached across the table, scribbling something into his notebook. Hoseok watched as his hair fell over his eyelashes, his eyes widening when he realized Yoongi was writing him a note-- a note in completely perfect English.
Want to sit on our old place on lunch? c:
Well, almost perfect.
The two might have been a bit touchy during class, but that didn't mean they weren't working just as hard. Yoongi's English had already improved tremendously, and Hoseok was beyond proud of him. Even if his sentences weren't perfect yet, he was now able to get the basic message across, which was really all he needed anyways. With just a little more practice, Hoseok was sure he'd be acing the tests in no time.
He gave Yoongi a nod, his heart fluttering at the thought of finally being together during lunch again. If there was one thing he'd missed more than anything, it was that feeling of warmth that always overtook him when he saw Yoongi waiting for him everyday. He knew Yoongi's feelings for him were real when he'd stopped putting his airpods in, only taking them out when he had a song he wanted to share. It really was the strangest thing to see your crush actually fall for you as well.
The butterflies in Hoseok's chest continued throughout the rest of his classes, his heart racing as his time with Yoongi neared closer and closer. It was impossible to focus when he was this happy, and he'd been caught randomly smiling for no apparent reason more than a few times.
And then the bell finally rang, and Hoseok rushed outside as fast as his legs would carry him. He'd already made sure to bring Yoongi a tangerine since he knew he would never bring anything for himself.
He made his way towards their usual spot underneath the trees, all the way at the back of the courtyard where not many people usually wanted to hang out. Rather, most people at this school wanted to sit at a large table, surrounded by an even larger group of friends that probably didn't even really care about them (much like his past self). It wasn't until he met Yoongi that Hoseok learned that it was okay to be alone sometimes, and that one friend who understood you was more than enough.
